Firstly mindflay is like a 3second channel?
So its a pretty lengthy spell not including knockback.

Secondly in WOTLK pummel has no GCD so really you'll have no excuse other than being a total failure, having it on CD or having no rage. To ever not pummel a cast.

pummel has a cd sufficient to make it not spammable... and most priests in pvp have some form of reduced interuption talent... so pummel rarely silences that school for long
