Help with starting a shockadin

hey guys. from lv10-70 i leveled as ret. ive specced prot a few times to boost-fest mates through aload of instances and what-not, but mainly ret-specced. im bored of ret now, even though its great fun in BG. im just fed up of fail-rating in arena (im not noob, i have a pre-BC grand marshall rogue, a s3 geared hunter with s2 arena drake), so id like to try out a shockadin.

i have a problem though

i dont know where to start. could anyone help me out with itemization and spec? ive seen a few shockadin vids, read alittle about them but im stick alittle confuzzled, so if any experienced shockadin could lend a hand that'd be great

all the shockadin vids are from private servers they arent good in retail at least thats what ive heard

im aware they arnt exactly pve dps viable, but id like to be able to dish out some decent healing for pve, and still be able to do a fair amount of damage (with survivability and the option to do healing) for pvp too. thats why it is appealing to me.

why take eye for a lame, and 2 handed weapon failization when you could get the 3% extra dmg from crusade that would actually benefit you. you won't even use a 2h weapon, you'll want a sheild and spelldmg mace.

secondly, you're doing badly in arena as ret so you want to use a less viable specc instead? riiiiight.

This is a basic shockadin spec thou some points can be taken from the ret tree and put into prot to help with pve

I'd recommend looking at smellydwarf's video's on youtube bit old now but still shows how good they can be.
Your need the lamellar gear and fill those slots with spell dmg gems.

im glad i could help. but i think you should definitely get a buddy whos also goin to be a shockadin, like the vid shows. it gives you the greatest flexibility. maybe a beastmaster hunter could also work.

on another note: get ready to get your ass handed to you by manaburning disc priests. but shaman and drood should be easy enough if you get to time your burst right.
