    Upcoming Priest changes

    Holy

    - We're going to make Holy Concentration scale with spell crit instead of just a flat %
    - Divine Hymn now does a short duration heal over time effect in addition to it's crowd-control capability, and is now baked into a lot of Holy talents (Holy Reach, Divine Providence etc.)
    - We improved Blessed Recovery so that it now works like Ignite (Mage), where each crit gets added into the periodic heal over time and refreshes the duration.
    - Lightwell - You can now see how many charges are left in the Lightwell by clicking on it.

    Discipline

    - Grace will now provide 2% healing for the Priest, stacks up 3 times. So 6% increased healing taken from that target who has Grace (but only by you, the Priest).
    - Twin Disciplines will now work with Mind Flay.

    Shadow

    - Shadow Resilience re-designed. Now called Mind Melt - Increases the critical strike chance of your Mind Flay, Mind Sear and Mind Blast spells by 2/4%.
    - Shadow Power: Now 20/40/60/80/100% critical strike damage bonus, also works with Mind Flay.
    - Improved Shadowform - The chance to remove all movement impairing effects when you Fade is now restored.
    - Psychic Horror - Redesigned. Now reduces all damage done by targets when Psychic Scream ends by 15/30%. Lasts 6 sec.
    - Dispersion - 90% damage reduction is restored.

From a blizzard poster on the US beta forums.
I like the shadow buffs, but still dispersion needs to restore health again.

    Update:
Misery - Now has 5/10/15% bonus spell power to Mind Flay, Mind Sear and Mind Blast

I think its a step in the right direction. If the testers can keep giving constructive feedback on Dispersion, maybe it will get tuned to something useful. Here's hoping....

Psychic Horror - Replaces the Horror effect, there were too many issues with it. One was players were confused with what it meant, one was it was too good in some cases, and it had no real PvE benefit. While the new version isn't the same, it has uses the old version didn't have.

as in 30% damage reduction for 6 seconds after it breaks, which is nice.

a 14% total crit chance bonus on MB and MF and 10% on SWD and its not all doom and gloom

I'd prefer the old psychic horror though.

As said its a start in the right direction, but the main problem with Grace is that you need to stack it and it lasts only 8 seconds (which fits with 8 sec cd on penance ofc. but very short otherwise). Having added healing to the priest itself won't make up for its lackings compared to blessing of Sanc. You allready loose a bunch of "fun" by having about 10% less healing speccing disc compared to holy, so you need some power elsewhere even if it means adding it to other healers besides yourself.

But on the positive side at least its being adressed.
    "Only Jack can zip up."
The word you want to use is "have" not "of".
You may have alot of stuff in your country, but we got Lolland.

Some people don't think outside the square... what's stopping you stacking the buff immediately before a pull? You can have 3 stacks up on a person inside 5 seconds (lag included) and why you couldn't have the buff on 2 tank targets is beyond me... once they have the stacks they only require 1 heal from you every 8 seconds... i'd also suggest that if you hit someone with penance they'll have a full grace stack on them after 2 seconds (unless someone in beta can indicate otherwise?)

Grace also has the advantage that it can be stacked on any raid/group member according to the situation. BoSanc will be a buff given to people before the encounter and dps aren't going to want BoSanc. Disc priests can throw a penance on any raid member when they are about to recieve incomming damage which is probably a more desirable idea to having a pally throw on blessings mid encounter.

Nothing really. Doesn't mean it's extremely handy. 3% damage reduction isn't really a hell of a lot, especially not for a buff that needs to constantly be monitored so it won't fall off. Yes you can try to keep Grace up on two tanks, and you should be able to do that assuming none of them take a ton of damage. However if you have to keep juggling beteen the two the 6% healing buff on them won't do a hell of a lot.

Penance is roughly our fasted heal (since it ticks right away) but it's on an 10-8 second cooldown. You don't really want to waste it to stack grace on a target that will be taking damage soon, you'd want to keep it to heal him up.

As for the changes, from a holy/disc point of view I'm not impressed. Unfortunately the beta seems to be pretty filled with shadowpriest that jump up in joy at each chance to see bigger numbers flying around, or the disc/holy priests hardly speak out. Disc/Holy and Shadow have really taken a beating with the last build. To me it looked one of the already lesser healers/dpsers being kicked to the ground (but I might be biased of course). The fact that we now get 6% more healing from grace isn't really anywhere near the amount disc has been put back in the last build... and before the last build we already looked sort of bad in our current form. We pretty much had all the talents people found usefull nerfed, without any real reason. Grace used to be 6% healing/6% less damage and has already been nerfed without anyone actually seeing why (and brought on par/made lower than a paladins 21 pt talent).

The Holy tree hardly got buffed. Divine Hymn is a ten minute cooldown, adding a HoT to it is nice but not game changing for priests.

Unless the scaling is very strong for Holy Concentration it just got nerfed. Holy Priests won't be stacking crit, unlike disc priests.

But wait, with Grace nerfed like that Disc priests won't be going raiding. Fail change unless there is still a damage reduction component, and it got buffed.

Shadow Resilience is a good buff. The shadow power change was due. The Imp. Shadowform changes and Dispersion changes are aparently just fixed. New Psychic Horror has been seriously nerfed, and might not be worth talent points. It won't have an effect on Warriors, Fear Warded or Clos'd targets and will be barely noticeable on anything else.

Not sure why Disc Priests needed a PvE nerf and Shadowpriests needed a PvP nerf, but there you have it.
