But could we get some more druid specific trinkets/rings/cloaks/necks? Im tired of every new tank item i see on the front page having parry rating and/or defense.

just take the defense on rings/necks/trinkets that you get - maybe you can leave out one point from SotF - you cannot have enough talentpoints left

Yeah, that is my thought, plus defense gives you dodge where as SotF just gives you crit immunity (sure it gives you +2% stats per point, but in all honesty, that is negligible). Plus, you are going to want rings/necks/trinkets with armor, so don't expect to get a ring with 500 armor, 100 agility and 100 stamina. That just isn't going to happen.

I dont think 2% stats is negligible. It is more than similar stat-boosts of other classes offer (since we benefit from 3 of the stats while tanking) and it scales pretty well. I dont want to pass this, since i dont see any superior talents left to pick in my build.

Still im sure blizzard is aware of the problem. The question is more likely if we are balanced about having to get some +defense (its not toally useless after all) and get more benefit of bonus armor to balance it out or if blizzard will give us optimized gear.

I personally hope they chose the first one, so they can fix us with optimized gear if we should fall behind later tiers.

It is negligible (1 point is). 2% of 1000 agility is 20 agility, and I am fairly certain we don't have 1000 agility while tanking (maybe). I know the stamina is a lot, but I'd prefer to drop 1 point out of that to put points in other things that we have to skip.

We only need a cloak and a necklace, but it's no big deal to take one with def on it.

Problem is that it would contradict blizzards whole thinking by putting in lots of tank jewellery without defence, the part where its less random to get your loot! However with badges and maybe even just a turn in system I don't see why not, defence is such a meek yet necessary stat already for us in 2.4 :C
