ideas to kill JoTW holy build

    simple:

a build in JoTW code that limits the mana gain based on the unbuffed amount of int the person has.

So if you gear beyond a certain amount of int, you will gain 0 benefit from JoTW.

why we want to kill this build?

so Blizzard can give buff holy.

They already changed JotW to make it unatractive to Holy.

    doesn't stop people specing it.

with the divine plea change, paladins can't go oom with JoTW.

the devs should completely eliminate the thought of JoTW being useful for holy. This way, they can nail holy specific problems with better ideas without worrying about getting holy pallies too OP.

If you take JotW you are just nerfing yourself as a healer. You have to take a lot of filler stuff just to get a minor mana regen buff. IMO JotW is not the problem... simply make deep holy a better choice. Currently deep holy talents suck and until that changes JotW almost looks good.

The problem with JotW is that you lose all other insentive to Judge by specing that deep into Ret. Also, if speced JotW you must be in practically melee range to Judge. There are many obvious reasons why that spec is doomed to fail in PvE.

Blizzard's design philosophy doesn't include buffs. If they want to disinterest people in a spec, in gear, in a rotation, anything, they'll nerf something that hurts other specs.

They did it with daggers, not by making daggers more attractive, but by nerfing sword, mace and axe damage with a normalization in order to make the already sucky daggers "not suck as much."

They did trying to make Holy more attractive for healing paladin, not by buffing holy or actually adding useful talents, but by moving Sheath of Light and by nerfing Judgements of the Wise.

They never address the ROOT problems. They band-aid and nerf things in an attempt to "break" things, which never works, and only screws over people who are unrelated to the problem to begin with.

Right now, 18/0/53 is the superior healing build because it gives paladin a controllable on-demand mana regeneration (that benefits the party/raid), a proc based HoT, more spell power than Holy offers, a proc based instant Flash of Light, just as much spell crit, and better raid buffs (Imp. BoMight, Sanctified Ret., Heart of the Crusader,) a CC with Repentance and more offensive power in general.

Holy gives us haste. Boy oh boy.
