As you can see the miss-chances for a cat are:

    Swing - 20%
    Claw - 14%
    Kill Command - 20%
    Bite - 10%

And that is as a BM-hunter.
So imo, take 2/2 Animal Handler and get 9% more dps

Also a question to anybody who things he knows the answer:
Does my pet benefit from the talent that gives 3% more hit?

Now I have looked more into the numbers and I see that 3.6% was missed, 3.6% was parried and that 14% was dodged. But doesnt hit affect the dodge? I always thought it did.

Even a better link from Teron Gorefiend (which is just a tank/spank fight if you don't get the ghost)

    http://wowwebstats.com/t5ymnjcmxh2ou...404a73b2000073

I'll ignore Kill Command because he does it manually

Claw: 6% miss, and 8% parried or dodged.

I hate numbers, I do not get them >.< And I have to be honest that I do not really know how hit works and if it affects those parries and dodges.
You pet will most likely not receive the hit rating from talents, since your pet only gains those stats you have on your character panel, at least I think so. But dont take my word for it, eventually someone will test it out and tell us what is right.

And about your WWS log you saw yourself that it summed up miss, parry, dodge into "miss", which provides false data. Your cats Swing missed 5.1%, which should be totally correct, since 9-4=5. Hit doesn't affect dodge or parry, only expertise does.

As for me, I will most likely go with this spec:
    http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=ctbMztgRmuzxRZ0eVbM

Talented stats are always on character panel, just like lethal shots.

Eh, Careful Aim is not. Mousing over my Ranged Hit Rating on my premade tells me just what the 54 Hit Rating I have provides, regardless of the 3% from CA or the 1% from Heroic Presence.

Because it shows "ranged hit rating" and not +%hit, simply.
And as for Careful Aim - probably some missed detail.

As you can see, you 'need' those 4 extra points. Too bad it aren't 5 points =(
Well you pet build is based on a level 80 pet
Furthermore the extra points will not contribute in your pets dps, only in his survivability. Also I thought Call of the Wild didn't stack with BoK. Not sure about this though. So if it doesn't stack. You can get the same dps without the Beast Mastery talent: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?petcalc=0md00cc0cz

1 point in go for the throat gives insane damage boost trought pet specials...
Tbh I didn't read that he said he took Beast Mastery for an exotic pet. And wouldn't it be a DPS increase in taking the Beast Mastery talent and then a cat for example and spend those 4 extra talent points on the cat?

I fail to see how the 4 training points are necessary for a Ferocity pet.

http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?petcalc=0md00fc0czz acquires every meaningful DPS talent in the tree.

well from my point of view, having those extra 4 skills for boar speed, lion heart and heart of fenix is good since im most likely gonna be pvping as well

Probably will be nice on a PVP server since like... anyone and everyone will always try to gank you on a PVP server, especially wotlk opening just to "play with" new talents.

Think I had to fend off someone every 5-10min when i was lvling on a pvp beta server.

if you go 5/5 frenzy your just bad

pets as of right now in BT/SW miss about 12% of the time w/ 2/2 animal handler so even if pets are getting 100% of the masters hit they're still 4ish % off of being hit cap (an improvement if they are getting 100%) but still @ 70 you'd need about 3-4% more hit with AH to get your pet hit cap. thats a lot and your talking a 1-2% increase in dmg by getting AH over not getting it

    70 talent build: http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunt...00000000000000

    80 talent build: http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunt...00000000000000

    Re: Hunter 3.0

Pet's do get Master's Hit% with Wrath, Animal Handler still does raise their Hit% but they don't miss as it is when they have your Hit% so it's redundant now.

Cat's are doing more in the Beta because Rake was scaled too high, it is being nerfed. Scorpids are not providing more DPS in Raids then Devilsaurs, if they are every Beta Hunter is hiding it as they all post their stats and change pets for testing, Devilsaurs are still king over anything else but not by a huge margin but we are trying to get a Spirit Beast for testing (RP Hunters are making this hard as hell to do).

That Cat build is not an 80 Cat, that's a 68 Cat with the BM Talent adding 4 extra Talent points.
