He has smaller, more nimble hands, runes have to be carved very precisely and gnomes are good at that sort of work.

Hey guess what, some things in wow does not have a logical explanation tied to RL, deathknights not being able to wield daggers is one of those things. The reason why they don't is that it doesn't fit their profile, nothing else.

The answer is going to be the same reason Paladins don't use daggers.

Lore-wise, they do not wish to be associated with the type of damage a rogue does.

They look down on the skulduggery.
