    (Spell)Hit requirement is now 17%

    Since all the other caster forums is failing at this, I might as well write a little quick post about it.

    The required amount of hit against a raidboss is 17% - This applies to ALL spells.

    17% spellhit is 214 hit rating at level 70 !

    We get 3% + 3% = 6% from talents.

    11% spellhit is 139 hit rating at level 70 !

    You'll need 139 hit rating on your gear for level 70 raiding

    Unless you prefer to have an occasional [Resist] and stuff your gear with other gems, enchants and whatnot more.

    Ive heard that level 71-80 spells will only need 9% hit to have 100% chance to hit.

    Can anyone confirm?

    False.

    Was the result of a retarded shaman forgetting his 9% melee hit stacked with the spellhit, giving him 18% hit.

    17% is the requirement.

    Just wondering, does this only affect PVE or did they also change the spell hit for PVP?

    PvP spellhit been raised with 1% as well.

    But don't ask me what it is, I don't PvP.

    Talents and gear combined, chance to hit with spells cannot exceed 99%. Casters should keep this cap in mind when considering their gear. In PvP at level 70, anything more than +3% chance to hit is excessive. For PvE raiding, bosses are considered to be 3 levels higher than the caster, meaning +16% is the most that will be effective.
    So it should be 4 % now

    I blame first kill adrenaline rush for not being able to sleep tonight.
    It's 13 hours since we killed him, 10am and I don't even feel tired :S

    Your Faerie Fire spell also increases the chance the target will be hit by spell attacks by 3%, and increases the critical strike chance of your damage spells by 3% on targets afflicted by Faerie Fire.
    So? Bring owls with imp. faerie fire? Does it work as intended?

    Would be 9% from talents/synergies, making it 89 Spell Hit (8%) to gear.

    Fairie fire and misery do NOT stack afaik. Plus no owls want to cast it anyway - that is our job from now on.

    It doesn't stack, and Misery is passively applied, while it's a huge mana cost for owls.
