Since this last nerf, the Paladin forums have seen a lot of upset people. However, instead of worrying about the pointless argument of whether or not this now makes Ret balanced or underpowered, I think that a greater problem will now arise in the form of a Holy DPS hit.

Although we’ll still be able to deal damage with Holy Shock, Judgements are also a Holy Paladin’s best form of offense. And with the new 20% nerf to Judgement damage, we can see Holy Paladin DPS dropping even further below other healing classes. Rather than complaining about it, I’d rather make a suggestion.

An ideal way to solve this problem would be to simply add another element to the Holy Paladin’s Judgements of the Wise, so that they don’t have to sacrifice points in a healing talent to be solo-proficient. The addition would increase the effects of all Judgement spells by 5-6% per point (5 points giving a total 25-30% increase). This both provides a moderate buff to the effect of Judgements in a group situation, and also increases the effects of Judgements while soloing – giving Holy a reasonable level of damage while not increasing the damage dealt by Ret paladins.

Note: Effects would include damage, mana return and health return – although if need be this could be restricted to just damage
