Just like to point out, if this is done like TBC was then if you aren't in the PST/PDT time zone, you can simply purchase it, install it at midnight after pickup and keep playing as they wont send the boats/zepplins until midnight PACIFIC, which is 3 am in my time zone (EST/EDT).
They have stated that it will be 12 EST and those on the west coast will be able to venture forth at 9 p.m. PST. They may not be able to purchase it before 12 from certain stores, but if they have it installed, it will be available.Originally Posted by Kazzuk

Be nice but I've not seen anything but speculation on that and local advertising, from Blizzard I only see: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/wowx2-midnight.xmlOriginally Posted by Promark
Which is for the retail portion. (Since their forums seem to still be down I cant go double check). It would be nice but we expected that with TBC and it was about 3:30 am or so EST/EDT before I was able to zone into HFP.
Perhaps the meaning was lost - You are able to upgrade your account at this time, provided that everything works as intended.Originally Posted by Baloney
It was not intended to be as literal as what you made it out to be. My point was to address those stating that you would be banned or you can't play until 12 a.m. This is not the case, you can upgrade*, you can play*, you won't be shut out*.
*Upgrade to WotLK and play of WoW subject to laws in your area, servers being up, your credit card working, you having enough gas in your car to make it to the store, the store being open, having a functioning computer, internet connection, gravity keeping you on the planet, extra-dimensional beings not abducting you, evil scientists stealing power to re-animate the dead, or any other unforeseen event.
http://blue.mmo-champion.com/1/12454671831-can-westcoast-people-login-900-pm-for-wotlk.html - Looks like they retracted the statement since I last looked, bummer for west coast.Originally Posted by Kazzuk

They are saying that because they do not want PST stores breaking street dates.Originally Posted by Promark
There is no way they could stop a PST'er with WoTLK installed and account upgraded from entering at midnight EST if the servers are running wotlk.
I have used this link --> https://upgrade.wow-europe.com/ to upgrade my account but it was burning crusade upgrade, I hope I have not fuked up my key! xD
To me that means server time. It matters not what time zone you are in, you won't get the new content until 12 a.m. server time. The original statement was that everyone would be able to play at 12 EST.Originally Posted by Zarhym

I'm guessing the stores have imposed the "don't sell until 12" mantra on themselves because 99% of game launches follow this rule and breaking this rule can result in fines or other consequence. This doesn't matter for LK because you can't access the content until they deem you able to. It's not like a console game where you have access the moment you pop the disc in your machine.
I hope that in the future when it comes to X-packs, they (game sellers) won't be so adamant on not selling it until 12, but I doubt it.

So if i download/install WOTLK with the link given in the post, would I just need to upgrade my account and will be able to play wotlk? (i dont feel like installing it and screwing something up... I would need to re-download WoW, BC from blizzard and that takes awhile)
