Nymh or Athene, who do you think got it in spirit?

People should stop arguing with each other about who is right and wrong. This is an OPINION topic, so give yours and leave the flaming out.

Personally I think Nymh earns it in spirit on top of in actuality. Instances were designed for multiple people, and the XP they give is based on the fact you probably can not solo them when you complete them during leveling. Athene countered this by having people drop group and having the XP go to 1 person instead of the three it would have normally been split between. To me, that seems like you are abusing the system and thus a bannable offense.

Nymh just had someone follow him to keep him alive, these mobs were designed to be suitable for one person to kill so the worst he is doing is convincing some poor healer to help for 27 hours. To me, not a bannable offense.

It is just like if you go to do the amphitheatre or the old Ring of Blood, when we did it there were some others completing the same quest, so we all took turns and helped each other DPS. Our group got no XP from doing it on thir turn, but it is not illegal to help people outside your group. While going into an instance is desinged around being in a group and cut off from anyone else helping by being outside of your group.

Athene asked if "Mob Tagging" was ok, he did not in fact ask if it was ok to abuse that in conjuction with the one min port out timer in instances. Having your friends/guild help while tagging mobs is quite ok, but instead doing it in an instance where the mobs are worth 4-6 times more xp where you are supposed to be booted from the instance if you arent in the group goes against blizz's rules.

It sucks getting banned/reset, but athene should have either mailed the blizz offices or made sure to ask if he could tag mobs IN INSTANCES. Because what he did was no better than say asking a friend to see their wrath box art then stealing their cd key, sure you asked, but you decieved them for your own ends.

I'm really amazed this has persisted this long. Who really cares? Are you going to go out and by a pair of "Athene Rocks" or "Nymh Rocks" underpants depending on the outcome of this poll? What bearing does this have on the game? Nymh has said he had no intention of winning the race, he just wanted to get it over with. He's not asking for the attention, he wasn't striving for the attention...he just happened to land in it because his spot happened to be the fastest. The guy is not some evil douchebag that had huge ambitions of becoming a WoW god. Athene and his crew did...but not because they are douchebags either. Anyone that thinks their youtube personalities are their real personalities has to be totally ignorant...so the entire discussion is dumb. Athene and his group didn't get butt hurt over not getting first...so why are you?

Personally, I think Nymh won in spirit. He did it fair and square using a tried and tested method of dot tagging.

Athene on the other hand, used a very ingenious method of tagging to level extremely quick.

I'm kind of glad that Athene was reset though, honestly I don't care about the people...but the developers who put months of work in to the game so we could have hours upon hours of playtime...and then some "random" n00b from Europe does it all in 13 hours?

It's kind of the same thing with SKNihilum. 2 days and your already farming bosses? Come on wheres the fun in that. Sure it's a big whoop world first, but think of the people at the other end...running the game for you..making it enjoyable. That guy is getting paid what...20 bucks an hour to texture that trash NPC you just murked.

IMO 6 Months Hard Work > 13 Hour Leveling Pipe Dream.

So, I went to the spot Nym did his grinding in to grind some xp for myself. When i get there and kill a mob I realize, hey, I didn't get any xp for that mob.

Point is, if what Nym did was perfectly fine, why did Blizzard fix it so nobody else can do it???? Maybe they should have both been banned and reset? I don't understand why they made it so others can't do the same thing, if what they did was legal. That makes absolutely zero sense. GG Blizzard, they are the failures in this whole thing imo.

Do you think blizzard maybe weighed the possibility of having hundreds of people flock to an area with an already high respawn rate and decided it would be easier to simply deactivate that for the time being? Whether or not they reactivate XP eventually is yet to be seen...but for the sake of server stability, thank god they deactivated what would have become world server crash central.

Athene exploited using the same bug he used in BC (which was removed after that)
the ban and reset is fair imo, the green light from the GM he got due to GM not understanding what he was gonna be doing.pretty simple.
