    Tri-specc and the gear for it

    hi, I'm lvling my death knight and i hope that this question hasn't come up too many times that you don't bother to awnser me. When i'm done lvl-ing my Death Knight I'm thinking about going the Tri-specc tanking ( http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=jfV...hxdRhoZfM0hxco ) way, can you tell me if i can go straight away and tank with that or do i need to realy gear up first ?

    this is my current specc and armory page so any pointers about gear or anything will be well apricyated

    http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...wsong&n=Ardran

    http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jfcMqIcIsc0xzAoZr

    and one other questing i should be ok to tank in my current specc, just some single target tanking in normal instances ?

    and btw i have been reading http://elitistjerks.com/f72/t36303-dps_compendium/ alot for some guideline how to play and i hope I'm doing things right

    Re: Tri-specc and the gear for it

    No offence but you Tri spec is terrible for tanking, you didn't take blade barrier, toughness or avoidance, the points you put in blood and unholy seem only to dps, theres no dreadplate or unbreakable armor in your frost tree either, did you link the wrong spec?
    My Dk is 76 and I currently tank with http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?deat...h=000000000000 it's by no means the perfect spec and its for Duel weilding, but it keeps me alive and relatively high on the dps charts too, gonna finish it by putting 2 more points in morbidity and 2 points in unholy command.

    Are you planning on raid tanking or just normal instance tanking? To be honest you can instance tank as any spec but I wouldn't recommend raid tanking as dual wield.

    Re: Tri-specc and the gear for it

    on the site http://elitistjerks.com/f72/t36303-dps_compendium/ he talks about the tri-specc

    8.4. Dual Wield Tri-Spec

    This spec focuses on the scalability of dual wielding and massive proc generation. It also makes particular use of Howling Blast as its main “strike” since HB is independent of weapon damage.
    For this build, you want a slow mainhand and a fast offhand. The fast offhand maximizes procs, while the slow mainhand maximizes BCB proc damage (since offhand procs of BCB are based off mainhand damage).

    8.4.1. Benefits brought by a Dual Wield Tri-Spec

    The tri-spec offers the same raid utility as a deep frost build. The haste (especially the 5% personal from Imp Icy Talons) is essential to generating as many procs as possible, which is what makes this build viable.

    8.4.2. Talents Choices

    15/37/19: All of the points in this build are designed around maximized white damage and proc generation. BCB, Howling Blast, and Killing Machine are absolutely required for a tri-spec to minimize the penalty of reduced strike damage when compared with a two-hander and to maximize procs to compensate.

    8.4.3. Rotation

    PS = Plague Strike
    IT = Icy Touch
    BS = Blood Strike
    HB = Howling Blast
    OB = Obliterate
    DC = Death Coil

    Note in the “DC” section, continue using Death Coil until you can’t cast anymore, meaning you have less than 40 RP remaining. Also, all Rime procs will be used in the “DC” section to cast HB. However, HBs usage must be primarily restricted to Rime procs. Rotations are shown over ONE cool-down per rune, with full rotations lasting approximately 10 seconds.

    15/37/19:

    X = HB unless a Rime proc is up, OB if Rime is up

    PS -> IT -> BS -> BS -> X -> DC
    (There are no death rune talents, so you will simply repeat this cycle)
    so basicly i thought that this specc was nice for the end tanking as a death knight, but I only postet this to learn more about the class, i realy wanna learn as much as possible and i wanna be good at playing this class in pve dungeons and raids both as dps and tank

    I intend to raid tank DW so far hasn't hurt me and thanks to it i never miss on my special abilities, I like that i can get 2 tank weapons with + defence and get the hit cap easier which open up getting more expertise and avoidance, if it doesnt work in raids ill change but right now i see now reason why it wouldn't.
    As for talents no matter what gear your in 15% more armor and 18% more avoidance is a must, you can never have to much of a good thing, I wouldnt worry to much about threat generation from what ive played so far its no problem at all for a DK to hold aggro.
