    Hi guys,

    I have a simple question. Does Genesis talent inscrease the dot effect of Lacerate and Rip too?

    Even if it would, i it's not worth of taking.. you got times better talents at resto and feral tree.

    It doesnt matter much imo. Even as a pure catdps spec i think there arent any free points that would be worth spending in genesis.

    How the talent reads and what the talent does are two different things. Alski was stating a fact: Genesis does not increase bleeding damage, with or without Phil Collins. The talent does not explicitly state "spell damage," but that's still all it affects.

    And as Sholva correctly stated, even if it did affect bleeds, you wouldn't want to take it. You'd be getting about a 0.2% dps increase per talent point.

    There was always a difference between magically applied DoTs and bleeding effects, which are considered to be physical damage (though not mitigated by armor iirc). The fact that both do "ticking" damage leads to using "DoT" for all of them, but they are not quite the same.
    Note that most talents and other things affecting bleeding effects do specifically say so, rather than "damage over time effect(s)".

    WoTLK made it so every idiot in the world can get raid gear and prove to the world that gear isn't everything.
