    ive got 1 piece of crafted tanking gear and no defence trinket with one t7 piece and the heroic badge tanking neck pice and im sat at a comfortable 545 defence if i were to go get the HoL trinket i could easily get 3/4 more pieces of t7 armour and gem them properly to keep max defence.

    Also if that new rune gives 25 defence and not defence rating it will make keeping that def cap even easier

    and if you want to check my defence and my not so great gear my Character is taerith on the Earthen Ring realm on EU servers

    If you rely on them to win a pvp fight you need to leanr/re-leanr how to pvp on a DK i rarely use them in pvp and i do well enough

    I'm playing an Unholy DK and I'm a bit disappointed. Hoped they would change Desecrated ground, too .
    Would be great, if all summonable Undead creatures of the DK would benefit from the 5% Dmg boost.

    But I'm looking forward to see the new sigils. Hopefully, one of them will be buyable for Grizzly Hills PVP and some others from the Badge vendor.

    Something like this would be pretty nice for Unholy:

    - Your Scourge Strike has a chance to grant you 60 haste for 6 sec.

    - Increases the duration of Death & Decay by 3 sec.

    Ah, so if you just dont rely on them everything is ok. Thanks for the wonderful tip. All this time and my problem in PvP is that I have been using abilities instead of just not using them and then I can also do well enough.

    Frost Presence -- bonus armor increased from 60 to 80% and magic damage reduction increased from 5 to 15%. We wanted to reduce the effectiveness of cooldowns but bring up base mitigation to reduce damage spikiness.

    15% and unholy talent (5%) and weapon enchant (4%) and metagem (2% (or was it enchant.. well whatever))...

    26% magic dmg reduction?

    I think people are finding DKs are easy to control in 1v1 or 2v2 maybe. but in 5v5 death grip will be all you really need to truly screw over the other team in arena. Pull kill target behind a pillar to LoS them from heals? yes thanks. Worse you could daisy chain with 2 DKs to bring them automatically 50 yards or more out of range (and behind a pillar) which gives 3-4 DPS plenty of time.

    It is too soon to tell with some of these, but I think the nerfs to survivability were necessary. Coming from a previous warrior, currently the amount of damage avoidance the DKs can have while still putting out good dps just by being in a stance (frost presence) is sickening. warriors get their damage nerfed by being in defensive stance...

    Anyways. As a frost DK tank, I'm pleased with the changes. And contrary to what some have suggested I'll prolly push for 590 defense just to have 40% on IBF. the extra parry dodge and miss will also be welcome =D Although I'm sure rating wise it would be smarter to socket for straight out dodge/parry, but whatevs.

    Is it even worth taking the BS talent now with the reduction as DPS? BS does still however increase damage by 2% but that's an expensive point if you're Unholy DPS considering the reduction in damage you'll take. But, if played correctly you'll be behind the target reducing that damage anyway. For solo questing however I've found BS to be quite a help.

    I'm wondering if it's better to just keep UB spam'd now with the rune power cost reduction. Thoughts?

    with that retarded bone shield nerf, atleast change it so it costs an x amount of runic power instead of a rune, so i dont have to fuck up my rotations to get a shitty 20% migtation for a few hits.
