    Tailoring mounts

Has anyone seen the Pattern for Swift mooncloth/Ebonweave/Spellfire/Flying carpet drop? If so were.

The patterns do exist in game right now, iv seen some one with a mooncloth one and a GM has confirmed to me that they are in game.

    Re: Tailoring mounts

I realize you didn't ask this, but I'm going to toss my input in anyway. I dont like the new tailoring mounts, i made one myself, and I don't ever use it unless im showing it to someone who hasn't seen it.

the reason I don't like the mount is simple, it uses the new mount mechanics, which means casting a spell or any other action does not dismount me, as with pre-wotlk mounts do. Instead, i have to click a dismount button to leave my mount, which annoys me, because it just becomes more of a hassle, and therefore, not worth my time.

Mine randomly dismounts me on its own (bug? idk..) but after the third time I fell to my death I quit using it.

Short version: Pics or it didnt happen

Seriously, if wowhead, mmo-champion, wowDB, wowArmory, thottbot, alakazam didnt see them, they dont exist, they exist in that they are in the game, but not avaible to players, i could well ask a GM if the Tabard of Stormwind exists, and they'll say yes because it DOES exist but its not AVAIBLE.

Not only that, but since they are treated as a vehicle the server trumps your computer for determining where you are. This means that while with a regular flying mount you can fly into a building, get auto-dismounted and continue what you were doing, with the carpet you will be jerked back to the entrance and dismounted. This even happens when pressing the dismount button while moving; it will jerk you backwards about 15 yards or more depending on latency.

Even more disturbing, with a regular mount you can log out in the air and log back in normally, but with the carpet you will log back in to a falling death. Being in the vehicle is not preserved through logging so you had better watch it when flying because if you get disconnected, you are dead!

    Re: Tailoring mounts

I noticed that my new flying carpet appeared to imitate the new vehicle mechanics. It was a very bad choice on Blizzard's part to do this. Perhaps, however, they will allow flying carpets to take passengers?

Either way, they will patch them at some point, so maybe you will pull that rug back out under you in the future.

As for the original question, it was my understanding that the three specialised versions were not yet available in game. If the patterns are rare drops, then chances are that they are like TBC patterns, and drop in heroic instances or Naxxramas.

    Re: Tailoring mounts

sorry to diverge from the topic at hand, but I noticed when you use the carpet, players (regardless of faction) appear green.

For example, in my pvp realm, if you are mounted on a drake and spot a player from the opposing faction, their name appears red (green for those on your faction). But on the carpet, any players name will appear green.

Anyone else seeing this, or is it just me?

ps. I concur w/ the mount treatment as well. THe dismount feature and combat fluidity is just lacking. After the grind to 425 tailoring i ended up switching to my drake rather than the carpet. :-\ :'(

I dont understand the question, the flying carpets are trainable, is that what you are asking, or are you asking if there are others than the trainable ones?

i believe he means http://www.wowwiki.com/Swift_Ebonweave_Carpet and the related items in the *See Also* section.

They were probably in the Beta but never got a chance to make it to live. Id wish they would simply allow the respective tailoring specs to make their specialty carpet... what was the problem? ???

    Re: Tailoring mounts

That sounds awful that it uses the vehicle system. I was looking to make one when I hit 425 tailoring, not anymore

    Re: Tailoring mounts

I am willing to deal with disconnect deaths and overall weirdness of the flying carpet using the vehicle mechanic because there are certain parts of dalaran i can fly in, north bank and profession sanctuary.

The greatest thing about the carpet though is that you can't be CC'd on it. You receive the debuff but aren't effected by them... stun, fear, death grip, etc. Just fly away!

I thought they were not to be implemented till next patch because I couldn't find anything on them =S

Strongly Agree! Although since I leveled tailoring within the first week of ridiculous prices I tend to use mine whenever I'm on the alt with it and since that alt is mainly another bank toon/profession toon only it's not too bad =D

    Re: Tailoring mounts

a GM told me that the Carpet is not intended as a mount but as a vehicle. So then my question is, will others be able to "ride" in this vehicle like other ones ? the answer: ( to the best I remember ) went like this: " err....."

so I think if they made it so others could ride on it ( Mammoth, the Hog, etc ) it would be worth the trouble. As it is now, the only time I use my MFC is when Im going from point A to point B other wise I use one of my other flying mounts.
