    State of Destruction

Back at 70 I enjoyed playing my warlock alt as fire destruction, and found with proper timing that I could do pretty solid dps. From what I hear Affliction is insane, demo is good for pvp, but I haven't heard anything about destruction. How does destro hold up against affliction dps wise. Thanks for any feedback.

    a litlle less dmg
    more mana efficient
    more funny
    less playing the interface

As far as specs go what do people see as the best destro. dps? Do people find machine gun imp works or does he simply not do enough dmg and dies too fast? Do people bother with chaos bolt or do they go deeper in demo to pick up some of the fun toys?

I have used imp and chaos bolt both...chaos bolt is a must for deep dest....Imp has been lack luster for me personally, dies alot against bosses and his proc to increase your crit hasn't been great.

imp/dest is ok...at least it increases your crit significantly

Fel/dest...good because mechanics of bosses do require some movement so when you are moving your fel guard is still doing damage to boss, hence keeping your dps up.

Deep destro is balls. Get hit capped and go 0/40/31 demonic tactics/emberstorm

You are incorrect, it just is not a one button spam....many can get to work and yes you need gear for it.

Once I got a good deal of spirit I've been rocking with Deep Destro

0/30/40 +1 seems to be the best destro spec when u get the gear for it.

    seriously i tried

    almost everything and with 0/14/57
it was the best i found

was like 200 more dps than 0/31/40
and like 300 more than 0/41/30 imp or felguard

and its less relying on pet to survive which is often the case

Could you post your spec and gear. I have tried imp..found that to be lack luster. Also posting your gear would be able give others a better judgement of where dest could be more viable than hybrids.

    Re: State of Destruction

I'd say once you are naxx 10 and heroic purple geared in most slots (failing affliction) you can do the following:

0/41/30 aka felguard/emberstorm...very good all around build and easy to play w' no raid conflict bugs

0/40/30 +1 aka imp's version of the above. Most consider it a bit behind FG/emberstorm given how robust the FG is and melee vs caster buffs in most raids.

0/30/40 +1 should technically scale better but for now the math is with FG/emberstorm in T7 content. Has option of phasing or saccing the imp as the situation dictates as well as letting him dps.

2/13/56, 7/13/51 aka deep destro. Getting a bit of help in the next patch and w' reason. Has a tougher rotation and some spell conflicts for not any more dmg for most people than the demo hybrids.

0/20/51 aka imp gun destro. Your imp is a big part of your dps and can work if you can keep your imp alive. Hurts it alot when you can't.

0/55/15 +1 not exactly "destro" but the whopping majority of your dps comes from bolt spamming thus its a nuke spec and still feels destro'ish. You have a juggernaut pet that survives all but the worst encounters and do some decent dps yourself while giving the raid a big buff (if you are w/o an ele shaman) Not something I'd spec if there is more than one already in the raid.
Easiest rotation IMO so perhaps put your lock w' the slowest internet or brain to finger connection on this spec.

Personally I've seen the highest dps out of affliction but it falls fast if you make mistakes. Certainly the expert's spec or for those who get bored easy and like a challenge. If you can multitask like a pornstar its a great way to go and for now the raid can only have one of them. FG/emberstorm is personally boring and dps is too similar to everything else. We raid w' two locks so we don't use it since one is affliction and one goes demo. Demo isn't that bad to play. Flatline/consistent dps is behind the other specs but not by much. Using meta and immo aura w' other cooldowns (like during heroism) can really make or break your dps for the fight. Also w' bad tanks and good healers you can surive a trash threat pull if meta is up. I've tried deep destro and it just felt very disjointed. It doesn't perform any better than demo or demo hybrids for me (yet I can nail affliction) so its not something I spec often. The easiest fights (naxx, sarth, sarth +1, archavon) it doesn't really matter what you spec. The tougher fights (sarth +2 or +3 and malygos are a bit less pet friendly thus favoring affliction or hybrids that can shift/sac or not depend on the pet.
