Epic gems in BOE items -> Bug?

    Hi,
I just bought a http://www.wowhead.com/?item=43251 and put in an epic prismatic gem. After that I noticed the ring is still BOE. I could also trade it to a friend.
My question is, is this a bug or working as intended or what?

    A dragonseye I presume?
Would say that it's a bug yes.

You can put the gem in, but to reap the benefit you need 375 JC (or whatever amount).

Having tested this for myself, socketing the BoP gems does NOT cause the item to be soulbound. However, like other posters have mentioned, it adds a "Jewelcrafting (375)" requirement to the socket. This requirement cannot be seen by me, for some reason, but was seen by my friend when I traded him the item. So an item socketed with a Dragon's Eye would only be useful to another Jewelcrafter, who could easily make his own gems.

It's not a bug per se, but inconsistent with the enchants other proffessions can make for themselves. The only way it could be exploited would indeed be another Jewelcrafter - the patterns for each Dragon's Eye cut also cost two tokens.
