    Recognizing DK anti magic abilities...

I was wondering if a helpful DK here could describe what to look for when these abilities are activated, and how long they last or how they work. I was planning to just roll one just to learn the class but i realized i don't have a slot for him.

I know theres obviously the big bubble anti magic zone that lasts like 6 seconds? So i wait that out, but i've read its smart to AOE them to break the damage cap?

They also activate something that kind of looks like a persistent cold snap emanating from them that absorbs magic damage?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

I haven't played a DK yet, so these links are the only things I could help you with. I hope you can find something until someone with a DK comes up and helps you out.

As a DK you have 2 major anti-magic abilities, anti-magic shell and anti-magic zone.
The anti-magic zone (purple barrier) is a talented skill and absorbs 75% of the magic dmg done to ppl inside it, lasts for 30s or until the dmg cap is reached (changes with AP, a DK with about 4k ap absorbs something like 18-20k i think)
The anti-magic shell absorbs 75% of the magic dmg and prevents the application of harmful magic effects, lasts 5s, it only works for the death knight and looks like a green bubble. It can be talented to grant immunity to magic dmg and glyphed to last longer.
Regarding the blue coldsnap thing you we're talking about its called icebound fortitude and it reduces all damage taken by 50% for 12s. It also grants immunity to stuns but does not remove them.

There are 3 more talents people haven't mentioned yet:
Acclimate from the frost tree. It is similar to nether protection that destro locks have, except that it provides 50 resistance instead of 60% flat reduction, it lasts longer, and it stacks up to 3 times for a total of 150 resistances. I do not believe there is a visual, but they will have a short duration buff with an icon of a color associated with that type of damage.

Frost Aura from the frost tree. 80 resistance to all types as an aura.

Spell Deflection from the blood tree. Gives you a chance equal to your parry rating to reduce the damage of a spell by 30%. I do not know if it has a visual.

There is a thin line between not knowing and not caring, and I like to think that I walk that line every day.
