    new to tanking

So as the title says I'm new to the whole tanking stuff, the only things I have tanked so far are a few 5 man quest during lvling. My whole gear is from lvling, the AH or created, here is a pic of me when I pop bear form (the only buff's on this pic are only my MotW and thorns)

and here is the armory link

I wanted to ask if I'm ready for heroics and what upgrades should i get ( enchanting and stuff )

    thx in advance
Forgiveness is between them and god, it's my job to arrange the meeting...

I'd ignore the above post - you have all the "necessary" tank talents for heroics. The changes that you'd make if you were maintanking for a raid would be to move the 2 points from Improved Mark of the Wild to Primal Precision (you would usually have a resto druid in the raid who would have this), and the 3 points from King of the Jungle to Primal Tenacity (since enraging while tanking raid bosses is a bad idea). However, neither of those are critical for tanking heroics although you may get similar "wrong spec" comments from PUG groups.

(I tank heroics and I have King of the Jungle because I also dps in cat for raids too)

In terms of item selection, google "Rawr" and download it. It's an excellent utility for figuring out the relative values of item bonuses depending on what you already have, and you can click-through the items to see where they come from.

Your gear looks okay enough to tank heroics (although not perfect - your armor is a bit on the low side but that should change with the next patch because you don't have much armor on weapon/rings/trinkets). If you're not terribly confident, tell the rest of the group in advance - it'll go a lot better than if you wipe and THEN tell them you haven't tanked heroics before.

omg some one saying some one should respec and then not saying a single thing about what they should change in the spec that is helpful, and then bragging about their gear with out any compareing so the op can know what to look for.

to the OP i would take your 3 points out of king of the jungle, get 2 points out of the furor and put 3 points into intensity and 2 points into primal percision.

as to why, kotj isnt really good for tanking over all, you would have to burn barkskin just to keep the extra dammage from eating you up. the furor 5/5 is more of a pvp skill, its ice to have the extra rage but in all honesty 2 points into a skill that only helps you when your haveing to change out of bear and back in can be spent else where. 2 points in PP gives you 10 points of expertease not just the expertease you would get on say an item but full expertease thats 2.5% change to not get dodged or parried which really helps out when your starting to tank dungons. the 3 points in intensity will give you a decent boost to your rage when you have to pop enrage to get it.

    as far as gear...
i would run the level 80 non heroic dungons, your gear is good enough to tank those, do the strath one and you get an upgraded gloves (yes they will get nerfed in the next patch / brought in line with their item level/quallity but they are better then what you have even post patch) there are some decent boe leggings that are offten on my ah, i would look for them if you can dont remember the name off my head seen em drop offten in heroics. hol has a decent staff in it on normal, if you get a heroic vh or up they have decent ones as well, and are some of the easyer heroics. the tanking head piece comes from heroic oculus its not an easy option i personally went and pvped to 60k honor and got the blue pvp one instaed it lacks the expertease but its sta/agi was decent and meta with 2% armor and 36 sta is nice.
warriors get rust, pallys cant hear you in that bubble, death knights are screaming about voices, druids? were trying to get whats left of your face off our claws.

Think these are the boe leggings you mean. http://thottbot.com/i37890

At level 79 with my druid so far and got those for him for 80. Unfortunately for him, lvling my mage came first.

Move the 2 points from imp motw into primal precision and you are golden. Switch some gems for more +dodge imo.

    Re: new to tanking

Your spec is fine. You can pick Primal Precision over Imp MotW, which is more useful, even regarding mitigation (less parried attacks, less hits from boss).

    I'd suggest some easy upgrades:

    - Chain Gang Legguards http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37890 - easy, BoE item
    - Exotic Leather Tunic http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44405 - quest reward from Utgarde Pinnacle (you can do it on normal)
    - Headguard of Retaliation http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44409 - another quest reward from UP (both quests can be done on the same run)

And ofc, our dear Handwraps of Preserved History (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44397), quest reward from CoT: Stratholme, this can also be completed in normal.

Try to get to Revered with the Argent Crusade for the head enchant. These things, and you can tank everything. As you're now, most heroics won't be a problem. You can start by Nexus / UK to get an idea, which are the easiest ones. When you get to heroics, I strongly suggest Essence of Gossamer from AN 2nd boss (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37220) and Gored Hide Legguards from Gun'drak last boss (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37644).
