0/40/31 allows the maximum amount of crit (11%) while offering the other benefits of 0/41/30 spec.

Deox, i'm a similer spec (euprope) but i can't seem to make anything like your numbers, i grant you your gear is better but i was curious as to what rotation you use.

although it would be nice if we had any active shamans (which we don't).

for the most part i'm just Corr, immolate, CB, incin, incin, incin, conf, corr, immoate etc.

CoA/Immolate/Cor, Chaosbolt, incin til 3.5 seconds left, Lifetap, Conflag, Incin x3

If chaos bolt is up at around 3.5 seconds left, ignore life tap and go chaos, conflag.

2 days ago for Malygos Hero i changed from 0/41/30 to 0/31/40, and the dps was nearly the same IMHO (not a good place to test the dps Malygos... so i'll try again in the Naxx run this evening).

after the patch will go live (and after 4 more drops of Naxx), i will try out 0/20/51.

About 0/20/51 do you think will be better to swap some 19 spell damage gems to the yellow crit gems? so the question is: is better to sacrifice a bit of Spell power for more crit?

No you should be swapping for Orange Spelldmg/crit gems which are a bigger dps increase. The gem is a potent Monarch Topaz.

Still need quite a few pieces of gear but I did 5.2k on patch25 tonight as affli.

So just go chaos bolt or affli.

Oke im also changed my spec from 40/31 to 31/40, the thing is sometimes i do alot of dmg like 4.5k dps on patchwerk, but sometimes i keep sticking on 3.2k dps wich is a large margin and i dunno why it is so, since i dont do anything else or forgot any buff, actualy i do the same dps as 40/31 atm

What ive been reading is that i beter should change my +16hit and +19sp gems (red-yellow) for sp+crit gems? (orange/purple etc?), and can anyone give me a reason why that should be beter?

Anyway i also seen a list somehwere about wich stats give the most dps, the thing was this was only for afllicition and was mentioned that hit > spellpower > haste > crit , if u keep to that it doesnt seem obvious that u should change 19sp with 9sp and crit?

RNG is the reason why youre doing 4.6k vs 3.2k, once you have a decent amount of spldmg and hit, the biggest stat for a destro lock is crit.

WOTLK gear has enough haste on it to give you at least 350-400 from gear alone.

Looking at your gear however you are geared like an aff lock you need more gear with crit on it

what i would do is loose the Alchemy trinket in favour of something like forge ember or dying curse.

I would replace the 16 hit gems with 9 spldmg 8 spell hit gems, since you only need 289 for a raid with a shadowpriest or a boomkin and you can get the rest from 40 spell hit food if need be.

This way you can gain some spell dmg and be able to convert some 19 spldmg gems to 9 spldmg and crit gems.
