1. Is this correct?

2. I know we get 1 AP for every 120 armor (if talented) but is it true that 1 STR= 2AP? The reason I am asking is because when i equip the plate item, my Melee stats go down...

Honestly no from what I've read 1 str doesn't equal 2 AP that is true on my shaman but if I was going to downgrade I would never go to leather maybe mail but that is it. Most mail has intel so I don't downgrade to much. I would rather have the extra armor so in case I do get hit I won't take as much damage and be able to put out more dps while the rogues are getting pelted. If your stats drop a significant ammount then I would keep the leather since you already have it. If it isn't by that much I would get the plate if you aren't hit capped for 2 handed then you need the hit. That's just my suggestion so you can keep it or leave it. Good luck. The reason why I'm so sceptical about it is because I just respecd unholy from tank so it is a new area for me too.

Yes, in a static environment 1str=2AP, but it also scales with buffs whereas AP doesn't. Also, your ghoul benefits from straight Strength, not AP, so even though you'll see a slight AP drop in a static (unbuffed) evironment, you'll actually be better off with the Breastplate of Undeath. Things like kings and Rune of the Fallen Crusader heavily benefit strength, as opposed to AP. And without looking it up, I believe that it's 5AP per 180 armor, not 1AP per 120 armor.


edit- got around to looking it up, and it is indeed 5AP per 180 armor if you're 5/5 bladed armor.

Shamans and Rogues are granted attack power on a 1-1 ratio from Strength and Agility. Paladins, Warriors, and Death Knights are at a 2-1 for STR.

Ok I haven't played my shammy in awhile so maybe something changed but I remembered my stats saying that it was 1 str for 2 ap. I don't know if maybe this changed since then or what but that is just what I remember. If it did change thank you for clearing that up for me Montoya. Your the Best.

It did indeed change with patch 3.0 for shamans, due to the gear being reitemized.
