    What's our hit cap?

    Yes I know, it's a silly question. Sorry for been lazy, I know it's somewhere but i seriously don't have time to search. Anyway, what's our hit cap for the following?

    Regular Dungeons:
    Shadow: with full +% hit talent?
    Shadow: not talented?
    Smite: (supposedly start from 0)

    Heroic Dungeons:
    Shadow: with full +% hit talent?
    Shadow: not talented?
    Smite: (supposedly start from 0)

    10 Men Raids:
    Shadow: with full +% hit talent?
    Shadow: not talented?
    Smite: (supposedly start from 0)

    25 Men Raids:
    Shadow: with full +% hit talent?
    Shadow: not talented?
    Smite: (supposedly start from 0)

    PVP in 80 BG:
    Shadow: with full +% hit talent?
    Shadow: not talented?
    Discipline:
    Smite: (supposedly start from 0)

    If any pros have time to fill this out, it'd be awesome ty ty ty.

    Hit cap is 17%

    You get 1% free from draenai if your playing on alliance
    You have 6% in your shadow tree if specced properly.

    That means on hitrating you just need 10% more, which is 290 hit rating. This is needed for everywhere. And hit rating in pvp? Last time I checked that wasnt needed. Resilience / spell penetration are the pvp stats to go for, But I can be mistaken of course

    with 1% from draenei and 6% from talents is 10% needed = 263 rating, not 290

    I think you are over complicating the question...

    Best way to look at it is to assume 0 gear, 0 talents, 0 party buffs, you need the following per lvl

    Same Lvl - 4% hit
    +1 your lvl - 5% hit
    +2 your lvl - 6% hit
    +3 your lvl - 17% hit

    You can make up the hit via hit rating, talents or buffs.

    Shadow priests will generally spec into Shadow Focus & Misery which give a total of 6% hit, meaning you need to find another 11% from gear or other buffs (such as the dranei 1% hit thing). 11% hit equates to 290 hit rating or another way to look at it is 26.23 hit rating will give you 1% to hit.

    You cannot assume you'll have a draenei in your group...

    In pvp you need 9% hit rating. And remember Shadow Focus do NOT benefit Dispel Magic, thus you want 6% hit rating if you're pvp'in as shadow.

    There is 1% you can't get get hit for, so the cap is 16%.

    Wrong, this was removed in LK... that used to be the case in classic & TBC

    I guess the worst case is using non-shadow spells like dispels versus blood elf paladins (nerf that talent). That would be a 10% missrate with no hitrating on gear (assuming the paladin cleanses your Misery). Is it worth getting all that +hit for? Naah. 4% I could see myself getting to to be able to dispel solidly without Misery up.

    Depends on playstyle, team setup, ranking, and bracket.

    No global answer, I just told the value.

    The hit is 16% now since wrath since the 1% cap on spells still hitting, got removed. af 5% in PvP.

    Misery can't be dispelled.

    You are completely correct. I totally forgot to calculate the 1% from Draenai in there.
