Simple aff lock qq

i need help desciding if i should stay deep aff, or make a SB spam spec. if u know which one i should pick, i wouldnt mind a sample spec to look at and a spell rotation to maximize my pve raiding.

Shadow bolt spam died with 3.0. There currently is no spec that makes it competitive. If the choice is between affliction and sb spam, you can look here for a description of affliciton:

If you don't even know shadow bolt spam is dead you are never going to "maximize your dps".

deep demo = shadow bolt spam and can do good dps, 6k+ on patch.

ok i would like this so called PROOF that deep demo can do that. cause im pretty sure it cant unless you cheat the meters. oh and by proof i mean wws a ss of recount isnt sufficient.

From what I've seen and heard Meta/Ruin trails Affliction by ~10%, but w/the way Aff dominates right now, that's still viable. I'm using that spec on my lock because I like Shadow Bolt and I like the Felguard.

Both of these specs are bad. Your deep affliction spec goes too deep to pick up ruin. You need to either pick up 5/5 ruin or 3/3 deamonic aegis, preferably ruin. Your sb spam spec needs to stop trying to be a sb spam spec. As has been stated, the closest thing to spam is a deep demo spec. You aren't the first person to think of using a sb spam spec. It has been tried and the theorycrafting community is uniform in its agreement that the spec does not work.

There is more than enough info on affliction in this forum for you to avoid traps like 3/3 eradication or 1/1 dark pact. You should look some of it up.

EDIT: as thats a fight where going to mele is certain death i lost abit of dps from not using immolation that ticks about 1.5k per 0.9s over 13.5s resulting
and extra 22k dmg that would get me over 5.150 dps and resulting me being 2nd on patch

2nd on overall dps when everyone else is terrible is not fanastic. Why do 5 - 5.3k when with aff you can do 6.5 - 7k? Warlocks aer a dps class. You shgould be doing everything you can to max that out. Playing a known gimped spec is silly, imo.

since we have no ele shammy or other lock its better that im gimped by 1k dps while every1 gets 300 more spellpower, you should know that if u were a raider

while what you said is true to an extent having a ele shammy should be on your guilds to do list. REAL HIGH on their to do list. as gimping your dps is bad and ele sham are real useful.

Like posted above, if you want the highest possible dps, SB spam is dead. The closest you will find to the old days is 0/41/30. Corr, CoA, Immo, spam Incin.. rinse.. repeat. Manage your pet too or you will be losing good dps.

Lol. The dps casters in that WWS of yours are two mages, an SP and you. That's right, 5 dps casters. You have a massively stacked physical dps raid. You are losing 1.5k - 2k by not going aff. 300 odd spellpower that you bring in that spec in no way makes up for 1.5k - 2k of your personal dps loss. You would know that if you were a raider (who could do grade 2 math).

I was usually 2nd or 3rd on wws, occasionally 1st. Rotation was Corr>Immo>CoA>SB spam, refresh dots with neccesarry. Save your metamorphoses for when blust/hero gets popped. When it is, Run into melee range and turn on your immolation aura. After that continue with your normal rotation while still in meta.

i put CoA out of the rotation and use CoD, since molten core is up almost all the time (sb spam go figure) and CoD does more dmg than it and more dmg than a SB in one cast
ofc i drop CoD only when i know its going to tick (not like on noth 30 s before teleport, or when boss is going to die 1m>)
