We needed that type of cleanse a season ago. Right now paladins are fine. The only thing we need is armor sets that don't look absolutly fucking retarded.

You should only be able to stun with maces. seriously just think about it.
The spell was originally called Fist of Judgement, and the icon was our current Blessing of Might icon. In VERY early beta, it also did some damage, like kick used to.

If you had paid attention to your animations, your character isn't using their weapon to do it, they're using their fist. It's a magical punch attack and has no relation to your weapon whatsoever.

A new cleanse would be neat, sure enough, I'd like to see "Shield of the Pure" which you cast on a friendly target, which enables you to cast purify... not cleanse (So magic debuffs aren't affected) on them repeatedly to stack up 'charges' which just absorb incoming effects that would be removed by purify. Sort of like a cross between water shield, grounding totem, and cleanse.

A new Divine Shield would also be cool, but only if they just change it altogether.

I always thought it would be cool to make it work like this:

Divine Shield - Call down the power of the light to shield you from harm, absorbing __ damage(equal to 20% of your HP), and applying a new shield every second for 10 seconds, and stacking up to 10 times. When Divine Shield expires for any reason, it goes on cooldown for 30 seconds for every charge that was applied.

Now the raw damage absorbed can no longer be exploited, focused attacks by enemies will still whittle down the Paladin, as a tradeoff, however, dispelling it too early means the Paladin can use it again in a short time frame.

Overall, the ability becomes much more tactical, and less of a what many (less intelligent) people perceive it to be, god mode for 10 seconds.

Hit them so hard that their helm bangs against their head?

Anyway, swords have a pommel, which not only worked as a counterweight to the blade, but could also be used as a small mace to make the opponent's head hurt when in close combat. Most medieval swordfighting was about trying to punch your blade through the joints of your enemy's armor. Slicing didn't really work against any type of metal armor, whether mail or plate. Thrusting was more efficient against mail, but plate simply deflected the blade aside. (Directly against plate blunt weapons were actually more effective.) In addition, some techiques use the crossguard of the sword like a warhammer.

Fuk maces. I'd like to see more decent swords. Currently there seems to be only one (Armageddon). Sword is the most knightly weapon anyway.

in your example about all the dots you can get you list them like you get them all at once. If that were true you have 7 people on you min so its already game over in 2 seconds

So unless this "better cleanse" kills atleast 4 people there is no point as you are still dead.

axes have unusal long handles ever got one off those in ur face, offcouse you have, youve been stunned by palas with axes, same goes for swords... we get a good grip on our grip... and hit you in the face with it (instead of cutting ur throats) we are actually really nice people.

instead off cutting throats we stun you (possibly only breaking some bones in your face) then magically kill you (judgement) with next to no mark on your body so that atleast your family knows its you...

better than being sliced to pieces from whirwind imo...

I am not talking about having all 7 people stacking dots at you at once, but having multiple character stacking dots at you is very likely because so many people have dots now.

    Examples:

    1. Mage, rogue priest in arena. The dots, poisons, snares etc. are strong in this one and often are applied on multiple party members.
    2. Warlock, spriest. Dot valhalla
    3. Warlock, balance druid. Also dots, insects and snares.
    4. Rogue, Druid
    5. Rogue, priest
    6. DK, warlock <---- we might see this set-up a lot more in the future when zomg burst arena is over.

You guys are all exagerating a bit with "paladins are OP" or "we need less stupid people playing them" etc. It's like all you guys are blindfolded by nerdrage of people that used to see us as free honor kills that you can't see points here where there is something wrong.

Sure paladins have multiple way of clearing snares. Myself I only use freedom and hardly every use cleanse unless i am snared and freedom is on cooldown. That is the only moment I might consider using cleanse.

But to get back to my point.

Cleanse is a very basic ability that uses a global cooldown. And global cooldown means 1 full second of non casting (if you leave out the server lagg where it seems some abilities don't want to respond that quickly). Sure it cleanses 1 poison, 1 magic effect and 1 disease that is all great, but the biggest problem here is that in this game the amount of dots, and classes that can reaply dots have grown greatly.

The amount of dots are increasing in this game. More classses can apply some sort of sticky stuff on you in the form of a disesase, dot, poison or magical effect. And the cleanse abilities are not really moving with this whole new dot trend. The simple fact that we have an extra class deticated to diseases now only makes this effect stronger (talking about dk's of course).

Dots, poisons, diseases and other magical sticky stuff seem to be Blizzard's new way of balancing. Hell they even gave retribution paladins a dot allthough undispellable (which they still can't fix since it breaks repentance GG blizz).

You guys might say ooooh just STFU now!!!

But in a couple of months when this forum will be full of OMG these dots, diseases and poisons are getting annoying. Don't say I didn't told you so.

    Re: What paladins really need........

Yes just to reply to all the people who are wondering how to stun people with a sword. There is als this part of the sword, axe where you are holding it with. Use the bottom of the while at close range and tada.

Now let's get back to what paladins really need......

Next person that says nerf loses 10 points. There are still 2 or 3 classes that need more nerfing than paladins.

    QTF QTF QTF!

there is a relatively high mana cost to cleanse for a reason. you shouldnt be able to run around and remove all snares and magic/poison/disease effects without a penalty attached.

priest dispell only dispells magic and abolish disease only removes diseases. you get a spell that does everything in one click, so stop whining about it.
