Savage Defense - Where is it?

I decided I'd hit the PTR and see what's up with this newfangled Savage Defense that everyone's talking about.

I've been to all the druid trainers in Darnassus and none of them are training Savage Defense. I looked in my spellbook (all 4 tabs) to see if, for some reason, it had already been added in there and it hadn't. Then I thought maybe it was just passive and it would just work, so I went to the target dummy and proceeded to bash its brains in but the buff never showed up.

Is the spell actually in the game?

On a somewhat unrelated note, I have 43,460 armor in bear form unbuffed. Thought they were nerfing armor values ... ?

I'm so confused.

I only have 34k unbuffed on live. But this isn't a thread about armor values. It's about Savage Defense.

If its not in atm it may or may not get into the game. There seems to be plenty of surprises to other classes (such as the removal of a group pw:s from priests).

In case it finally shows up I was wondering... will it proc with Primal Gore? I mean, if the bleeding from Mangle crits will it proc Savage Defense?

Also... this thing will make improved mangle good again to increase the number of hits and thus the proc chance, right? Or am I missing something?

Per se, Imp. Mangle has nothing to do with crits. Since all out strikes are able to crit, using a Mangle in place of Swipe/Lacerate isn't going to crit more. The point of that talent is that Mangle is over two times stronger than any other GCD move, and its second only to Maul. Thus having that means you're going to put out much more threat.

As for Primal Gore proccing Savage Defense, I can't tell. Not on the PTR yet.

mangle doesnt bleed its the lacarate that can crit

however as the current discription on mmo frong page says:
*New Spell* Savage Defense, 1 rank, level 40 - Each time you deal a melee critical strike, you gain Savage Defense, reducing the damage taken from the next physical attack that strikes you by 25% of your attack power.

so it probely wont proc on a crit of lacarate

imagine:

cat form with old SR (40% AP) + savage def...
so with 15000 AP, 3750 mitigated ALL THE TIME (pretty much, with 50% crit it can be expected to have this on for 80% of hits)... wow cat tank

I'm sure it's bugged. I seem to be the only druid on the PTR who saw a positive change in armor value. After doing a little math in comparing armor values of individual pieces to how much armor i receive, my bearform armor coefficient seems to be about 11.6 instead of the 6.88 it's supposed to be. But I also notice I've got >10k armor in caster form. Katjia on the WoW forums mentioned it might be that I was in bear form when I copied my character and there may have been a bug with that. *shrug*

Probably not

i just tested my bear armor on PTR

on live : 34K
PTR : 29K so only a 4k loss that acceptable tbh but i think it mgiht be bugged since i expected to loose rougley 10K armor

i also seemed to have lost about 5% crit maybe they chaced another game mechenic ? or added DR ?
