    Recently went disc... advice please

I have been a holy priest for 2 years only going disc pvp to arena in BC. I recently decided to try Disc for raid healing, I never knew there was that big of diff in stats needed for the specs. I'm being told now spirit is not as important to stack Crit> Int > Haste> MP5. Any advice would be greatly helpful. Looking for experienced Disc priest please Maybe link your armory, suggest glyph's etc. Please be advised before you look me up i know i need uprades >.> took a break to wrk on my pally some :P I JUST chenged my spec a lil b/c somehow i forgot to max out Divine Aegis, That has been fixed ;D Pleas know also this is a very recent change and i wanted to wait until i got more feedback as should i change enchants around i did resocket all my spirit gems.
Thanks in advance for your help

Generally, you don't have to bother with Haste at all.

Imo, its Crit>Int>Spelldmg>Mp5. Using power infusion and flash heals, shields and Penance. This works fine for raids, including the fact that you've got Grace and Pain Supression, bringing up the Spirit buff etc.

It is not completely static, handling stats ofc, as when you got alot of intellect, spirit scales alot better.
I cannot currently check your gear, so I won't bother too much with that.

I would choose int > crit > spell power > mp5 > spi. Your first goal would be to get arround 1400 int, 1000 spi, 30 up to 36% crit and 2000-2200 spell power, ofc raid buffed and full enchanted. As for enchants get as much spell power/stats/mp5 as you can get. Socketing is a mater of individual tastes. As for glyphs defo should be glyph of PW:S, glyph of Flash Heal and glyph of POH/Renew till new patch will come live when you can choose glyph of Penance. Another advice do not ignore 2/2 absolution cuz you need faster CD's.

If you specced disc forget about raid healing, such thing would make you a fh spamer.

Guessing from the OP by the time he would have reached these stats 3.1 will have landed and crit will be worth far less.

Basic spec looks like this: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=bVcbuhLtMxoifRt0xxc
2 points left here, you can spend them for Desperate Prayer, maxing MA or Healing Focus (if you have problems with your spells being interrupted by damage a lot).

Talking about the gear you want crit, spellpower and intellect as much as you can get. Dont bother getting those mp5 pieces, mp5 is good at starting gear levels but as you gear improves it only gets worse since it doesnt scale. Haste is irrelevant, you should be fine with 3-5% from gear.

For gemming at starting gear levels you go for crit and intellect gems to get comfortable with regen. When your gear improves you can start gemming spellpower instead of crit for more HPS (35% raidbuffed holy crit is the goal).

For your healing - you are a tank healer, dont bother yourself with anything else. Yes, you are still a priest and capable of healing the group with PoM and PoH, but there are usually shammys and holy priests for that. For healing you want to have your Weakened Soul debuff and Grace buff on the tank 100% of time. Try to keep your Penance always on cd also - it's your most mana and hps effiecient cast. The rest of the time you go for Flash Heal, Greater Heal and PoM on the tank depending on damage. Greater Heal is still viable despite it being a lot less efficient with Discipline than Holy, but precasting it and using it with Borrowed Time is the way to go for Disc (at least before the 3.1 patch goes live).

Would'nt crit be worth more after 3.1? since Divine Aegis will be changed and stack up to 10k damage

Re: Recently went disc... advice please

Don't be alarmed when you don't have 1400 int fully buffed (read: 27500 mana).
Also as disc, spirit vs MP5: either is ok on an item, but try to get items with spirit. (spirit is always better: 2 spirit > 1 MP5)
Focus on crit since you'll be healing MTs mostly, rest will come anyway.

As for healing, depends highly on the fight, but sometimes you don't want to use Penance every CD because you'll need it later.
Don't hesitate with PW:Shield (even on non-MTs). But again, you might want the MT not to get the Weakened Soul debuff on fights where the MT gets big predictable hits.
    Remove Gheal from your actionbars.
Small hint: Borrowed Time doesn't get removed when you cast channelled spells or instant spells but they DO benefit from it.

For 5-man parties, you can pre-emptive shield your partymembers when you expect AoE damage during the fight and I recommend doing that.

    Have fun!

Yes it will, but that doesn't mean to ignore int. Since replenish got it's buffs int is your main concern, that's why in my opinion crit/sp should come in before int. If you get arround 24k mana pool while progressing all should be fine.

I won't assume any of the new changes for disc tree as nerfs since i have no clue about how the new content will "behave" on live. On PTR i had no problems with mana in 10 man pugs.

As for divine aegis stacking, it's pretty hard to "build" that. :P

    That's a goal that should be achieved, it's not a must. :P Cheers !

That's a good point, pretty hard to stack up DA unless you're very lucky on a Penance.

I raid as disc and have since close to the end of BC since the holy tree was just too bland to play anymore.

    http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...rissan&n=Ethos

My spec is the generic disc spec, i dont use renew, as it is generally a waste of a global cooldown and most often a waste of mana - which will start being an issue next patch.
I'm also a flash heal spammer, for me it does higher healing output and allows me to keep up more Divine Aegieses (totally not a word <.< ...Aegi?)

Stat breakdown: You have the right idea - Crit > Int > Haste > MP5=Spirit
In regards to spirit, it is getting gutted next patch to pretty much bring it down to the same level as mp5, and even at present the line between spirit and mp5 isnt very bold, so pretty much just pick up whatever item you can and focus on the other stats first.
Aim to get your crit as close/above 20%(with Holy Specialisation)
Your Spell power is at where it should be so thats fine.
Your haste is a bit high, but will slowly drop when you're able to get more crit-oriented items.

There isnt really much else, take 2 pieces of holy t7 for the set bonus, then either offset pieces or shadow tier (since its itemised better for disc than the holy set is <.<)

    We dont have many glyphs to choose from at present;

Major: Glyph of Flash Heal, Glyph of PW:S, and for a third i use Glyph of Prayer of Healing (simply because theres nothing else that great)
Minor: Glyph of Shadowfiend<3, Glyph of Fortitude, Glyph of Levitate (again not many fantastic ones)

    For a basic spell rotation even though it doesnt really exist much for healers;

    PW:S whenever off CD
    Penance whenever off CD
Prayer of Mending whenever off CD (or when it needs o be reapplied)
    Flash Heal

It's an enjoyable spec to heal as and is pretty easy to pick up the basics, keep up Shields/Div Aegis/Grace and keep your target alive and you're fine!

Stop making fake statements. Mana won't be an issue.

Haste is not that needed since you already have 5% haste + borrowed time + shamy totem + a buff food if it's really needed.

It actually is an issue, ive been on the ptr and tested disc in naxx, sarth 3d and heroics, rapture is significantly weaker than on live and mana is a bigger issue than it is now.
You cannot have played on the ptr and can say mana is not an issue.

Nope, i didn't played on PTR ... Rapture as in it's actual design is a pvp talent mostly, it was designed for pvp. And no, it won't be an issue, since shamy totems got buffed and replenish also.

Good luck relying on a totem and replenishment for General Vezax.
Also, for a "PvP talent" to be 40-50% of a disc priests PvE mana regen in live, something has to be wrong, eh?

Re: Recently went disc... advice please

Mana Spring hardly got buffed. It won't stack with BoW now so that's a bit of a nerf. I'm not sure that I've seen any buff to replenishment except that mana pools will be larger and that more classes will have access to it.
