Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

I was just bored and started thinking of some cool ideas CoT could use. Going back in time and exploring old/new lands is always fun. Which would you guys like?

    Burning Steppes
Something to do with before Thaurissian summoned Ragnaros. We are a group of adventurers in Burning Steppes, a less-fiery place than now. When we start the instance we turn into dwarves, like humans and durnholde. We make our way through burning steppes encountering ogre clans and wild animals. Making our way to the northern-central part of burning steppes, we come across an Iron Dwarves scout post, and encounter a first boss there. After that, we make our way closer to Thaurrisian's town. Arriving there we enter a big village encountering a boss in the barracks, probably a general or some sort. After, we either A) Fight Thaurissan and the "killing the boss" is him turning yellow and summoning Rag therefore winning. or B) we protect him from waves and waves of mobs and fight an Infinite Dragonflight member while hes summoning Rag or C) we do a corny fight vs Rag which in turn causes him to go into rage raising the Volcano.

    Thralls Landing
After arriving from Zandalar, Thrall and his orcs and trolls land in Dustwallow. Its mostly an escort quest making way towards Durotar. About 3-4 bosses in this one would fit. We walk through the short Dustwallow to make way to The Barrens (minus the Barrens chat). We have to escort Cairne and Thrall with several grunts to each Oasis. On the way are wild Centaur and Kobald we come across. At the WC cavern, we encounter a thunderlizard boss. At the one opposite of that we face a Infinite Dragonflight boss. At the third we come across a Kobold boss. Then we walk north and find Durotar and Thrall gives us epics!! (Turn into a random variety of Taurens, Trolls and Orcs)

    Barrow Deeps
Not really the best idea but you start in Winterspring with Malfurion and Tyrande. Your objectives are freeing the druids of the claw from there slumber and freeing Illidan. 3 bosses. First you enter, you encounter a huge furlbog, some boss type, only characters fight it. Second you fight a wild and crazed druid. Third you fight a giant Infinite Dragon.

    Power of the Frostmourne
You with 4 other characters are turned into Undead. You are in Northrend, around the landing of southern Dragonblight. You make your way with some undead forces and dwarves with Arthas and Muradin. On your path you encounter many scourge and burning legion forces. They you fight an abomination as the first boss. You hold them off for now and make a stop at the frostmourne, when Arthas touches it, a small cinematic comes forth, like the one in wc3. After, you fight 4 dwarves and after killing Arthas does the whole stab Muradin thing. An infinite dragonflight member is a few steps away and you have to kill him. His objective was to get the frostmourne before Arthas and some unknown leader was going to call in more forces if related to Burning Legion... some unexplained reason. After killing him you get phat loots. The last boss is Malganis and his forces. They come for you in your enclosed area but you take over the waves and kill Mal'ganis.

    Bonus Silly Chapter
You escort Mankirks wife to her tent to kill her. Thats how she actually died.

Argus.. I know people hate Draenei but it'd be cool too see a future set CoT where A'dals army of light does battle with the legion.

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

but then your gonna attack the draenei
cause you need to make sure they lose

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

Battle of Stormwind. Orcs vs Humans.

Whole instance would be about that infinite dragons would try to change it so humans would be victorious( its always unknown why are infinites doing that so whatever :P)

Note that this is not horde/alliance fight, orcs were brutal demon-frenzyed race back than.

We would be at the side of orcs. Few boss ideas:

-Some human lord who would be in fact infinite dragon in human form, pretty powerfull. He could have adds which would be normal humans, few phazes, in last we would fight his true form.

-next boss could be Archmage of Stormwind, infinites would send him m essage that Garona is going to kill the king, we would have to kill him before he would inform king about that(Since they are from future and yoggy will be pretty defeated that time infinites would know about yoggys influence on this event)

-there could be pure adds fight aswell, without any mainboss - just slaughter a lot of adds, different in power and so. Mages, paladins, guards and so There would be infinite agent who would buffthem a bit, so witjhout our help this army would defend SW ( adds would come up, dont imagine 300npc on one square please )

-Than i would add battle in cathedral, where we would have to slaughter all paladins and priests empowered by dragons power, which would attempt to shield stormwind like mages shielded dalaran from demons(with holy power)

Whole concept would be old stormwind in battle, there could be so funny encounters and even trash could be done fun. Iam sick of boring wotlk trash already..

Here we would be infact murderers, because we would kill mostly good characters. But infinites are bastards, so we have to kill em all )

Any other ideas for bosses to this CoT Battle of Stormwind?

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

cool idea, bosses could be like at least someone who died in that fight, and not the king since that was garonas doing... unless they change the lore around and say "We helped" somehow.

An instance in stormwind would be pretty cool.. and not stockades.

Actually its pretty unknown whio fought there and who lived there on the human side. Lothar khadgar or medivh were from obligo so..

But i think it woul really require high quality designed instance and trash. Idea of this on one or two square is stupid, it needs to be living raid with a lot of scripts ^^

You could go throught city, using catapults, help from your orc friends and so. After fighting guards and so you would break first gate, than that human/infinite lord could appear.

And chromie have to be there cool would be choices what bosses you will kill now, for example you could choose between paladins and mages kill, unlike in every cot now where you just go in exact order.

5-8 encounters would make nice instance from it.

About assasination, i dont think it could happen, since you have that yog-event there. I think it should go in par with last boss, some infinite dragon. Ideally we could get more infos about infinites from him, because kinda retarded when we are guarding timeline from some totally random creatures.

Edit: Another encounter which could be there is letting young prince Varian out from the city, guard him from orcs or infinites

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

It would be cool if we started in some tavern in goldshire and headed to stormwind for that to start. We then have to use catapults and cannons to take down the two doors, after that we fight a boss or something.

When we make our way in, we have to take down the guard doors to the kings room so we go to scattered buildings in stormwind to take down the defenses. After the last ones down we fight some pally or mage or something. Then we make our way into the kings room and fight that infinite guy who we stop whos about to stop Garona or something..

Just some minor idea, dont mean to steal from your ideas. I can think of alot of cool ways to make sw part of an instance.

What, no "COT: Fall of Gnomeregan"?

  10. #10

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

I have that as an other option, I love the idea, i just think its silly knowing that we lose in the outcome. :P why would the infinite dragonflight WANT the gnomes to stay there?

Somewhere in the future they should make it a world event, retake gnomer and echo isles

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

Because had the Gnomes never had to leave Gnomeregan they'd never have invented the space/time weapon that defeats Nozdormu (or whoever) sometime in the future, duh ;D 8)

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

    5 man instance wise?

I would say the Journey to Frostmourne would be pretty good.....

Maybe the storyline would be like this:

After the Infinite Dragonflight failed to stop Arthas and corrupt the Bronze Dragonflight in Cavern of Time: The Fall of Stratholme, you find Chromie with a quest for you.

Apparently the fight in Strat is just a distraction and the Infinite Dragonflight plans to stop Arthas from reaching the frostmourne. That's why there's so little traces of the Infinite Dragonflight within Strat. Although stopping Arthas from reaching the Frostmourne seems to be a good thing, if he didn't however, Chromie tells you that everything that is now will be undone. If Arthas does not retrieve the sword, someone more ambitious than Arthas will take the Frostmourne instead and Arthas is the lesser of two evil and Thrall will continue to be a slave to humans and the Blood Elves will never come to be and no one will be prepare for the one who replaces Arthas as the wielder of the Frostmourne. Without the Hordes, the world of Azeroth will be destroyed....

    Or something like that....

So under the disguise of undead units, you travel with the Arthas to retrieve the sword.

There will be a total of 4 bosses for the instance: 2 random bosses, The Guardian of the Frostmourne, and Mal'Ganis

There would probably be two other nice one:

One would be the creation of alliance shaman and horde pallies.

    Like for alliance,

You (disguised as elementals, druids, shamans, priest as water, rogue, dk as wind, mage, hunter, warlock as fire, and warrior, paladins as earth) have to escort Nobundo from his camp site near Shattrah to Nagrand and then from Nagrand to Zangarmarsh. Along the way, your group will face against Infinite Dragonflight, disguised as either other Brokens or Dreanai Guards not letting you pass certain check points. Nobundo during this time can cast Lightning Bolts, Lava Burst, Chain Heals. Once you escort him to safety in Nagrand, Chromie will pause time and open a portal for the players to jump through and jump ahead a few years later and start on the second part of the instance where the group, again, disguise as elementals, escort Nobundo from Nagrand to Zangarmarsh. This time, Nobundo can cast Chain Lighting, Lava Burst, Lightning Bolt, Hurricane (think D2), Gush (a pseudo earth shock that knocks enemies up in the air), and Earthquake (if there's multiple mobs). There will be four bosses total, 2 from Shatt to Nagrand, 1 from Nagrand to Zangarmarsh who has the power to corrupt the wild life in Zangarmarsh and the other disguised as Velen to deceive your group and captured Nobundo in a stasis trap.... That's when Chromie appears to help you in the fight, Chromie has an aura that increase attack speed and casting speed while firing arcane spells such as Slow, Arcane Barrage, Arcane Missiles, and can cast Focus Magic on all characters with mana bars.

    For Hordes

You will arrive at Tempest Keep: The Eye with Prince Kael and is fighting your way through the mechanical security systems while players are under the disguises of Blood Elves. Players will go through armies of constructs similar to the ones in Arcatraz amongst a wide variety of mechanical enemies. Prince Kael can cast Fireballs, Flame Strike, Siphon Mana (that returns mana to all allies), Shock Barrier, and can summon a Pheonix during boss fights. During this time, Chromie will whisper you if you are getting close to a group of Infinite Dragonflight. Apparently in order to stall your group long enough to get to Mu'ru (The Infinite Dragonflight is attempting to corrupt Mu'ru), the Infinite Dragonflight has summoned a few prisoners from Arcatraz and they have trapped some of the most powerful beings the Naaru ever captured into certain keypoints on the way to Mu'ru. There will be a total of 4 bosses. The first one is a eredar demon boss, the second one is a voidwalker boss, the third is a tribunal fight where the security system must be turn on to destroy any non blood elf and non Naaru intruders (Chromie will freeze time to work the system and trapping Kael in a stasis trap so he won't get hurt saying it's not his time yet, his time will come). During this time the player must defend Chromie from the Infinite Dragonflight. Once it's over, time unfreezes and the Infinite Dragonflights (if not aggroed by you) will be shot dead by Tempest Keep's security. When you get to Mu'ru, you will discover that the many more of the Infinite Dragonflights shot dead by the security system and a boss like character that just got kill by the security system. And now you fight Mu'ru.
All of Time and Space, Everything that has happened or will happened, Where do you want to start?

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

Deathwing's war against the blue dragonflight

Here, the infinite dragonflight is attempting to make the blues victorious. No matter how much many of the members of the bronze dragonflight would love to allow the infinite to actually have their way this time, they know, and convey this to you (the player), that it could destabilize the time stream that we know and love and live in. Bad.

The players fight as drakonids, members of the black dragonflight, and slaughter the blues. SLAUGHTER THEM. !

Or something else that lets us play as drakonids with the black dragonflight. OK MAYBE I JUST WANT TO PLAY AS THE BAD GUY OK?

I'd rather not see anymore CoT instances TBH. I've seen all the old lore, I'd rather new ones.

How about a lore event that has very little description as it is then? In otherwords...."so and so did this and won, the end" type of info, and CoT could be used to give it more depth. There's quite a few events I'd like to see in depth.

Btw, Why do people, who are suggesting the Journey to Frostmourne, keep saying "you are undead units, and join arthas on his way...." He didn't have undead under his command yet. Until he "killed" Mal'ganis, he had humans working under him(which would be when he turned and killed his men in the quest involving Matthias Lhener.)

If you want an event where you get to play as undead, how bout Arthas on his way to claim the Lich King's armor(fighting Naga, BE's and demons)

I would have to say, Caverns of Time - Blackwing Lair.
    Make it a raid.
For a 5 player Dungeon, I declare Caverns of Time - Enchanted Forest. The Release of Illidan Stormrage.

    Made by Ariyana!

Re: Your vote for a new CoT instance/raid

    You should add:

Azjol Nerub- We turn into undead and help Arthas and Anubarak get trough Azjol Nerub to reach Icecrown. It won't be the Zn we know as a heroic, but rather the nderground passage, that Arthas and Anubarak used in WC3 TFT. First boss would be some giant Nerubian/Spiderlike Creature, second boss would be the Forgotten One that Arthas fought down there, and the last one being Some Infintie Dragonflight creature.
WoW characters that need/deserve to get killed/punished/otherwise removed from the story: Tirion(dead now), Thrall, Malfurion, Sylvanas(soon?), Jaina, Tyrande

I forgot, havent played wc3 in like 3 years so it was kind of hazy to me, I just remember dwarves, you, and a bunch of snow on that mission. And the cool cutscene.

I was thinking of adding that, its just the "forgotten one" may be Yogg Saron, and if it is, it would seem kind of weird to fight him twice in one game (pardon the Kael'thas thing though : ).. If it was though, it could just be a fragment of him which wouldn't matter.
