Both deal non-physical damage, therefore it could work.

yes it does. Impurity actually isn't a make or break talent either, its rather underpowered for a 5 point talent.
If I'm not mistaken that talent only works on abilities that says "Deals X% Weapon Damage AS Frost/Shadow" correct?
I'd have to check that, but afaik FS and SS are NOT counted as spells (they use the melee hitcap, can be dodged and parried [in the case of SS that is])
IT, DC and HB are spells (not sure about UB, Pest, BB).
DC, D&D, IT, BB, HB, Pestilence(until 3.1), Frost F, Blood P. Are all effected by Spell power increases.
anyone know if it affects Gnomish lightning generator aswell?
It increases AP coefficient by 25%
So anything based solely on AP should be increased

Talamare is right it does hit a lil harder with Impurity I was mistaken...where Tundra Stalker builds win is having Guile of Gorefiend so the crits hit much harder...with HB having a 50% or so crit chance due to KM procs the overall dmg output is still in favor of deep frost instead of Impurity builds for the dmg output of HB specifically.
