    3 hours isn't a long time at all :P

It can take me months to get a UI how I want it, sometimes I can work on one for 3 months and end up scrapping it. Don't expect to get a UI that's perfect in just 3 hours ^^

Take a look at the gallery in my sig; that's just a very small amount of UIs I've started and/or worked on that I managed to find lying around. If I had my old HDDs there'd be hundreds of screenshots.

constant work in progress since vanilla!

Ive fixed the font discrepancy and all addons are now the same font. I had swapped all the ones I could see out of combat... then at the start of raid had this internal OCD rage when DMB messages popped up in Forte font :P

i have literally gotten nowhere, moved stuff around similar to the raid screenshot of pixil's ui, not really looked into "heavy" (in my mind anyways) modding/editing of elv so I am going in fairly blind, having to spend ages looking for which dropdown does what.

Edit: got no idea how to make my unitframes look like pixil's.
Edit2: waahh this is getting frustrating, cant detach manabar from my player frame, *bashes head on desk*

Edit3: @pixil, are you using separate unitframes? i cant seem to make mine look like yours via ingame options.

Edit4: Frustrated, deleted elv. gonna have a bash at some stand-alone addons and see what i can come up with

I have always been into modding, and this one took the most time out of all UI's I have made.

I'm using a font which comes with many AddOns. If you get Qusemap, I think the font is named Font1.
There is no way to detatch the power bar from the healthbar using ElvUI (which annoyed me at first too). At the moment I'm rolling with health and power bars together.

If it helps in any way... I am using the Pixel Perfect skin for ElvUI. I have a hunch that you're using the standard skin, which would most likely give results far from what you can see on my UI.
My unitframes are the default ElvUI ones, configured quite easily to look the way I have them.
Like Carebear said up there^ UI configuration can takes AGES. On this ElvUI edit, I spent more time than I'd like to admit teaching myself how to change things I wanted to change etc.
Carebear mentioned that he can spend months on a UI and then star tall over again (which can be seen in his UI gallery) which is similar to me also. I've been using the UI that I had before this ElvUI one for about a year now, but before that I would change it almost every week, just to get it right!
Just stick at it and you'll get there!

Regarding the unitframes issue: the actual unitframes are 214pixels wide, and 18high. The power bar is 3pixels high. The textures I'm using are named ElvUI Norm and I'm not actually sure where I got the font from... but it is a edit from the "Skurri" font. You can find the font in many other AddOns though, which I mentioned up there^. Also remember that I'm using the Pixel Perfect skin. (You can change the entire skin of the UI in the installation process when you first set up the UI.
(This should probably be in the "Sticky: Ask it! UI/Mods Edition" thread, but I am putting it here in reply to a post in this thread)
    Hope this all helps!

I tried and tried, could not get my unitframes to look anything like yours, believe me i tried, for like 5hrs ><
Could you pm me some of your settings so i can copy them over, really want to get my ui setup before sunday night :P

    Edit: Are you using QuseMap?
Edit2: If you have them together, how can i make it look like you have it in the raid screenshot, i tried all the settings i could find and i could only offset it .
Edit3: the 4 icons on the left, pyro lb etc..is that power/weak auras?
Edit4: my resolution is only 1440x900, so its gonna be a bit wonky compared to yours. Got the Unitframes looking something similar to yours now, thanks a bunch for the height and width +texture stuff
Edit5: what size are the buttons above your player frame? 20seems a bit big for me but any smaller and i can barely see em

Only AddOns I'm currently using are DBM and Qusemap, and of course ElvUI. DBM is being rather stubborn regarding the configuration - It will not let me change the fonts and size for some reason :\
A friend just told me that in 5.1 ElvUI profiles will get wiped clean and reset, so I'm not really motivated to configure it any more :P
I actually fiddled with ElvUI recently and eventually gave up because I couldn't quite get it to look good, I actually had more success editing TukUI. Seeing this is quite nice and has prompted me to give configuring Elv another shot. It's not a bad package at all, I just get tired of seeing the same old ElvUI un-configured over and over again. I guess that goes for a lot of addons though (looking at you SexyMap).

About your DBM woes... I know I had a similar issue with BigWigs. I suggest taking a look at Quse's Boss Styles if you haven't already. I only really started using this because whenever I updated BigWigs my styling would reset, this is an independent addon from the boss mod so it keeps the styling.

Quse Boss Styles is awesome, was using his ui at the end of cata, had a slightly edited version of it up untill this afternoon, probably gonna pull boss styles over to make it look super sexy!

Yes I am using Qusemap. To be able to use Qusemap with ElvUI you need to go to the General tab, and untick Minimap. (Like this - http://screencast.com/t/VLj66HYRPHbj)
Then you need to do this: http://screencast.com/t/2lzsHCKre1K

Button size is 16 by the way

Yes I generally just dismiss any UI that is plain old ElvUI :P I think I have done a fairly decent job of getting away from the generic look though
And thanks Frantik! I will give Quse Boss Styles a go now, see what I can do with it

Okay here is something you could try (Don't know if it will work but it's worth a shot!)

    1. Go into the Qusemap AddOn folder.
    2. Open the "media" folder.
    3. In there, there will be a font named "font2". Copy this.
    4. Go back to your WoW folder where "Interface" and "WTF" and "Cache" and all those other files are.
    5. Create a folder named "Fonts". If you already have a Fonts folder, skip to part 6.
    6. Go into your Fonts folder and paste "font2" in there. (Rename it if you want to. I think "Supercoolawesomefantasticfont" is a suitable name )
    7. Log into WoW and see if you are able to choose this font in your ElvUI config.

EDIT: Yes I am using this font as a default font for my UI

If that doesnt work i will drop that font into the media > fonts folder in the elv ui addon folder ;P
It finally looks similar to yours!

That probably won't work, if you want to be able to pick the fonts you want from in-game you need to register them with SharedMedia. That goes for any media such as statusbars, borders, sounds etc. I'd personally just replace the font you want with one in the media folder of ElvUI. Just make sure to name your new font the same as the one you replaced.

Literally just did exactly that. Assumed it wouldn't just "work" if i dropped it in so i replaced one in there with the one i wanted, renamed of course!

Was not sure it would work I just suggested it because my Fonts folder is where I can find the font which I use for my entire UI (Skurri). Evidently there is more to it than copying and pasting into it hehe.

    No problem!
Resize it all to 8 and give it a monochrome outline
