His heart takes 100% more damage if you attack it, which impacts on XTs overall hp, so YES ATTACK IT, but DO NOT kill it, unless you want hardmode, I doubt you stand a chance to kill it anyway if you haven't killed him yet anyway

Arg so frustrating, we kept having him enrage on like 7%!

We were thinking it was bloody retarded that 3*30second periods were counted towards his enrage timer, especially considering the adds don't spawn for like 10 seconds and everyone just stands around.

If you are dpsing the heart and he still enrages you need more dps period. Physical dps is very great for this fight. Myself(blood dk), rogue and fury warrior always have 6k+ dps on the heart our first kill was 3 mins and some change. We are a very avg guild so it isnt hard just a matter of blowing cooldowns at the right time. If you dps the heart really low he doesnt have time to do a tantrum after the first heart phase before he is forced in to the second phase. good luck hope this helps.

Its funny, the first week we went in, and no one dps'd the heart and we still killed him. After killing him found out the heart does the equal damage to him, heh...We were happy still to beat him without dpsing the heart at all. Then went back this week and one shot hard mode.

It is possible to chain heart phases if you do enough damage to the heart each time it's out. Last week he entered his first heart phase at the usual 75%. We dps'd the heart until about 5%. When he came out of heart phase, he was at 42% and immediately went into another phase. We took him to 17% that phase and it started another one immediately. We then killed him on the 3rd heart phase without him even coming out of it

I find it hilarious that you guys are killing him without touching the heart, shows how nerfed the enrage timer REALLY is. Now you can chain the 1st and 2nd heart phase pretty easily with good dps, but the 30% heart Im not so sure about. And you can tell if your guilds raid dps is off the charts when you have to stop dpsing the heart and just waiting for the phase to end.

But to clear up all questions in this thread YES it is designed for you to nuke the shit out of the heart and that damage is reflected and subtracted from the XT's health, its how you burn her down so fast.
