My Blood TPS Tank Build

Howdy. I know we're sick to death of spec threads, but since there aren't too many blood tank specs going round in 3.1, I thought I'd share one of mine that does pretty impressive TPS. I've got another spec that is pure survivability for those of you who are going to call me a selfish tank that doesn't give a shit about healers, but this one is insanely fun, just no self heals :P

You'll notice a few things. No Two-Handed Weapon Specialization, no IIT, no Rune Tap. I figured 9% crit for HS with a 45% damage bonus was probably going to be better than a 4% base increase, though mathematically it might be wrong, it seemed pretty sweet. Only 2/3 on WotN so that I could get 3/3 MoM, so there's a little less survivability there. Lack of IIT isn't that bad considering there was another DK there who had it, and since i'm not spamming it like I do with HS, didn't seem like such a bad trade-off.

Last night on XT-002 with this build I managed to spike to 14k TPS which was pretty sweet, without bloodlust (though I did self-Hysteria which is why heheh). Normally was sitting around 6-8k, was out-threating the pally OT on the phase 1 easily.

If you're having trouble with threat maybe give this one a go, Heart Strikes are just uber. Feel free to tear it to shreds, but although I MT, I know it's a bit tougher on the healers with no Rune Tap and weakened WotN.

Generally for TPS build I think Sudden Doom is amazing addition to your aggro gen. Also, its ofc a matter of personal preference, but I found 45 points in blood sufficient to tank 25man ulduar w/o problems.

Yeah? What would you replace? I find I do use DC a little bit because I've usually got tons of Runic Power. I'd love to try it out.

I am wondering why you get scent of blood? When ever I tank in a blood spec I find that I sit at max runic power full time, and there isn't much for me to spend it on.. other then a DC?

Do you really need more runic power?
