    Holy Concentration uptime

I've been looking at logs over at wow meter online. Lots of logs. The goal was to try to find a good number for Holy Concentration uptime, based on real data.

    Deconstructor.
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7898918#buffer - 28%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...0637203#buffer - 41%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7734984#buffer - 26%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7995993#buffer - 34%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...1364276#buffer - 18%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...5636699#buffer - 45%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...5636709#buffer - 40%

This is a well-rounded fight with a good mix of every spell being cast for holypriests. I personally think this is the fight in Ulduar best suited for measuring uptime, so I picked the most numbers from this one. Higher numbers are backed up by higher use of single target heals. Lower numbers are backed up by more AoE heals. Remember, HC only procs of single target spells (plus binding heal).

    Ignis:
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...1364276#buffer - 52%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7864493#buffer - 22%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...1334012#buffer - 21%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7486090#buffer - 25%

Ignis is more of an AoE fight for holypriests, but with a focus on instants. The first guy in the list got pretty lucky.

    Hodir:
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...1364276#buffer - 34%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...1890427#buffer - 27%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...1312795#buffer - 32%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...1312791#buffer - 53%

Hodir is another AoE-heavy fight, but with room for a lot of single target heals as well. The last guy in the list spammed renew a lot, and this paid off. IN fact, renew seems to be a mana-effective aoe heal due to its ability to keep HC up.

    General Vezax:
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...1364276#buffer - 8%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7141206#buffer - 23%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7074324#buffer - 26%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...6307356#buffer - 25%

The general is maybe a silly fight to measure uptime on, considering that you don't cast many spells, and most of them being single target. Also, it was hard finding holypriests on this fight, most priests I discovered were seemingly dualspecced to disco. Ah well, was worth a try

    Kologarn:
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7833370#buffer - 19%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...3658499#buffer - 30%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7682636#buffer - 54%
    http://www.wowmeteronline.com/combat...7682642#buffer - 24%

Kologarn has a lot of heavy AoE. Three out of four queried priests countered this with heavy use of Prayer of Healing. The last one also used Renew a lot. You can see who that is by the HC uptime numbers.

I'd like to see a statistics for Patchwerk (single target heavy fight), but it seems few are interested in making stats for that fight anymore. Haven't seen any entries since april. Ah well.

    --

Out of all the fights so far, it seems that HC has a potential uptime for about 50% if you try hard (spamming single target heals), and around 20-40% if you don't. It really depends on playstyle though.

Seems I am not like most priests. I changed from my disc/shadow dualspec to holy/shadowdualspec for both our mimiron and vezax first kills. Body & Soul is awesomesauce on the general, as is a 1 min CD on guardian spirit. Oh and of course, free flash heals.

    Re: Holy Concentration uptime

    Personal sidenote on the general:

I do that fight as holy. It's a pain.

If I spam FHeal, I'm usually OOM before the first gas cloud spawn. So I hold back.

But I'm still unconditionally the healer with the highest mana consumption. I usually counter that by having the highest regen, but that's hard on this fight :P

So where the other healers usually take 5-6 ticks every other green cloud and proclaim themselves happy, I need no less than 7 ticks from every single green cloud to keep up. If I miss a cloud (due to getting the debuff or being knocked out of it or stuff like when it just bugs), I need 8 ticks to catch up.

8 ticks seriously hurts. That's 20k damage taken on the 8th tick. Considering that I've got about 20600 HP, I need full HP pool (hard to time), pre-bubble, and preferrably GS to survive it.

Let's just say I've gotten a reputation as a walking failure on that fight, dying more often than not. It's a small comfort that the OTHER holypriest in the raid is struggling more than me. We usually both get soulstones and combatresses, every other try or so. Kinda embarassing.

If the Smitelolspec wasn't so awesome for farming, I'd go dualhealing with my specs, for that fight alone.

Same for me on Vezax. Normally i like to keep my 1min GS on our tank for Surge of Darkness but i find myself dying a little more often on that fight compared to other bosses, so i have to use it on myself to safely get 7-8 ticks :<

Mana consumption as holy on this fight really sucks. My husband's a disc priest (we're raiding together) and he needs only 6 ticks (7 when he's really low). It's kinda frustrating. Btw: You should cancel Shadow Protection for the clouds. You only gain mana for damage taken. Every damage that is absorbed or resisted weakens the clouds effectiveness.

Nice numbers btw. You should link it in your Regen Trinket thread. As much as i love your threads and replys, this one kinda is not enough information to be stickied :<

Vezax couldn't even touch our tank during surge of darkness. 60% runspeed increase from body & soul ftw.

I used my GS every minute too, but those 10 seconds were used so that all healers could lay a bit lower with the healing only.

We're doing it with a DK tank on Vezax. SoD is every 60-65 seconds. So he just pops IBF and Bone Shield everytime and tanks Vezax during SoD. My GS is just to be sure he doesn't die but we rarely need it, that's why i keep it on myself.

(We do this on 10 and 25 man. No need to kite SoD)

Bone shield has 2 min cooldown :P

But yeah, a DK with IBF is probably the best tank for Vezax if you don't want to kite him though. I find the kiting tactic much more enjoyable though (tank & spank sucks!)
And also IBF is no longer a 50% reduction, more like 35% so this still means healers have to heal for quite a chunk more every minute.
