What does your Shadowfiend hit for?

I was in Wintergrasp today and ended up battling a priest. I noticed that I took a significant amount of damage from their Shadowfiend. It hit me several times for around 1k each, and crit me for 2200. Do they usually do this much damage? The battle wasn't going on, so I'm positive that they didn't have Tenacity. I believe the priest was Disc if it matters.

By the way, this was on 6k armor, no resilience. I'm not saying they're overpowered or anything, it just suprised me that they could do so much damage. Is it normal for them to hit that hard?

Edit: It seems that Shadowfiends hit for shadow damage, so armor would be irrelevant.

Well, in raids it hits for 1-1.5k normally, which is pretty nice.

My record crit is around 3.6k but that was as shadow spec/pve gear with both trinkets proc'd. Shit was so cash.

Normally between 1500 and 1900, using Shadowcrawl. Maximum I could find in my logs is 2128.

700 a swing from a full Hateful PvP geared Disc Priest on a full Hateful PvP geared Ret Paladin. Recount said about 410 DPS.

Mine hits for similar numbers, 1k-1.5k, raidbuffed.

Shadowfiend was buffed in damage in 3.1 to make it a "damage cooldown", rather then just mana return.
So, make sure to pop it when heroism is incoming.

Roughly 1100-1200 is what i'm seeing with 2300 sp. More with shadowcrawl, it's like a dot that moves pretty nice as a dps cooldown actually.

It'll hit more or less depending on the melee friendly debuffs on the target. On a full sundered target with Faerie Fire, it'll hit a lot harder than on say, a target dummy.

It's important to remember that, for min/maxing of dps.

Duel a hunter and tell them to let only the pet beat on you, now that is overpowered dps that the player doesn't even have to try for.
