Fastest is Shadow, but Discipline isn't far behind, no matter what you do your first three skill points should be in Spirit Tap. After that, go for it.

I leveled from 1 to 80 as full disc and was actually very suprised how quickly it went. Disc is very viable for leveling purposes, plus it is easier to heal with if you want to instance (not that you can't heal as shadow).

    Blood

Since I never leveled as disc I can't say anything about it. However, I have heard that it's best to level to 40 as disc, then switch to shadow just so you can show people off with your shadow form <3 No, honestly, it should be pretty good.

Re: So I'm rolling a Priest...

ROFL thats all crap.. Leveling is shadow is insanely faster than disc. I'm not saying that disc is bad to level in but someone saying "disc isnt far behind" is wrong!! lol. Saying that tho, you will survive ALOT more ganks as disc

Shadow is the way to go tho I do suggest switching to holy or disc with the last few levels to practice healing (if thats your planned finale). However with instances I managed to heal as shadow but couldn't go further until Blood Furnace, then it just got way too hard I managed to heal AC a couple of times tho.

I don't know what other tips ur looking for tho something that came to mind is that you will able to handle multiple targets that are yellow.. Two targets that are OJ. Red targets will be difficult gl

Seraphic obviously never leveled with a disc+shadow tap build.

Or didn't use a proper rotation.
I leveled disc, and the rotation Shield, Penance, Smite, Holy Fire, Mind Blast worked wonders.

The reason I used Penance before Smite is because Penance didn't consume the haste buff gained from shielding. And I used Smite cause it had a larger cast time then Holy Fire.

Now you're probably better off using Penance, Holy Fire, Smite, Smite.. with the smite glyph. I could be wrong, cause I haven't tried it, I leveled way before the current smite glyph was introduced.

Stacking haste worked wonders as well.

Disc is very doable and very fast too, with little to no downtime when specced correctly. The advantage of this spec, is that you can go directly into healing without any problems whatsoever. To get max efficiency, get smite glyph and use shield->holy fire->smite->smite->wand/swd. You get max efficiency if you chainpull and let mobs destroy shield, for mana regen through Rapture. I don't see the necessity of using penance as dmg, and rather spend it healing when necessary.

Shadow is definately better as long as you aren't only pulling one mob at a time. I always killed one while DOTing and fearing the another when leveling.

At 80 I can chain pull and kill one mob every 5 seconds or less with no downtime in shadow. That spec is overpowered.

As long as you take 3/5 points in spirit tap, you can level easily even holy

Shadow is the way to go unless you have a friends to group with. I soloed my way out of the Draenei starting areas as shadow. even the 2 final group quests. If you are good with your rotation and get it down good you might never leave the spec once you hit 80 I never did when i hit 70 or 80.

Because the first half of that you had no talent points, and by the time you left altogether, you still wouldn't have mind flay... yeah, that counts as great experience for "Speccing Shadow in Draenei starting areas". :

Shadow is ideal and it is because of DoT's. Dot things up with a nuke or two and move on when it's at 30-40% and pull the next mob. You can chain pull a ton of mobs [basically as many as you want with some spellpower] this way then circle back around to loot after. Just remember not to do an entire zone or the corpses despawn before you get back to them...

Disc works well and has more survivability but isn't quite as fast.

Holy isn't as bad as it's thought to be but there's no reason to level as Holy.

And yet a burst damage does it as well as a DoT.

    Shadow 45ish-80

For leveling (which is what we're talking about here) disc offers more damage output and personal survivability than holy. That could be why. :P

When I leveling from 70-80, I alternated every few levels between disc and shadow, and found disc to be only slightly slower - but with far fewer deaths. And for AOE-grinding, disc is incredible. Shield, HF/SWP target mob, then mind sear. By the time the mobs eat through your bubble your weakened soul debuff is typically gone, so rebubble and re-sear. If the debuff is still up you can either easily throw a heal on yourself till it's gone, or just fear. I was able to easily handle packs of 6-8 same-level mobs in this manner, and rarely took any damage of concern.

*sigh* all i said was Shadow is fastest..

    Raptorg obviously is stupid.

You are a "shadow priest" only after you have....tada...shadow form. This requires minimum level 40.

No... you are a shadow priest *TADA* if your points are in the shadow tree. You don't have to have penance to be a disc priest... you don't have to have Guardian Spirit to be a holy priest.

Fastest leveling has always been the shadow tree. Depending on your circumstances (PVP server, friends you group with and might need to heal, pure solo questing, instance grinding, etc), you might have better luck elsewhere (disc for PVP to help survive, holy for healing friends, etc).
