Warlock or Shadow Priest for BG PvP?

Greetz,

I did some AB yesterday with my 29 priest, currently spec'd as Shadow leveling spec, and I must say I didn't like it much. It felt very defensive, I would often die debating if I should heal myself or attack, and I'd run out of mana quite quickly.

Wondering if I should continue leveling this character. My end-game aim is to mostly PvP in battlegrounds. I will off course be doing 5mans, 10mans, and maybe even some Arena too. But I play very casually, so mostly solo-PvE and ply battlegrounds.

Before I moved to Europe I had a US Warlock at 45... I thought it was fun. Been wondering if I should do that again here. My only concern is if I ever get into grouping, I might have trouble as I'd be only able to fill one role... with a priest and dual specs I could be a healer or dps.

Anyway, I appreciate any thoughts, or just comfort that this class gets better as I push on.

Alot of hybrid classes feel like that to begin with. After alot of experience you will get a feel for how to play a shadow priest.

Some things to keep in mind are:

20-29 bracket is different to 80.
In arena, spriests are under-represented compared to warlocks.
A well played warlock *should* out dps a spriest with similar gear/skill.
Warlocks are easier to level since the mana regen nerfs.

Yah, my main has been a horde druid for the longest time. I've rerolled Alliance to play with a couple friends. On my druid I was balance, so I thought to go with something purely caster for this round.

However, in the end I don't want to get to 80 and find that shadow priests are seriously gimped... or perhaps just not my style. Sounds like plenty are having fun with their shadow priests, so it can't be all doom and gloom. However, while I not looking for an "I win" class, I am not the greatest player, so I don't want to play a class that requires pro-gaming league skills just to be decent.
