Improve my druid!(Feral)

Hey guys, soooo im a little lost at the moment on my druid

im in the process of getting better boots / cloak and need to do 25 maly for the Favour of the Dragon Queen

im a little low in hit im pretty sure, but should i gem hit ???
im not too sure anywho, tell me what i can do to improve...

But you should consider changing your idol for the Shred one, with your ArP it would be better (armory isnt sorting your rating right, but looking at gear it looks like its high enough)

Changing the mirror or truth for something like Grim Toll would sort your hit rating out perfectly, and with your ArP atm it would be very good.

Or try to pick up some rings with Hit on them

hoping I can get some tips for improving my tanking a bit, I shifted to feral tank when we lost one of our well geared tanks to wife agro. Basically went off what I remembered from Hyjal/BT days, stack stam and agi. Had no real issues with threat or survivability, just wondering if theres much room for improvement with what i have (well i know there is, but you know what i mean).

other trinkets available are: Furnace Stone and Valor Medal of the First War
other ring available are: Ring of Invicibility
also to note: 2 Emblems away from t8.5 helm so any suggestions for metagem/gem/"chant" for that will be taken on board

Im happy to tweak my spec if there is an honest suggestion as to why, also regemming and chanting is not an issue.

and just a little update, did 10 maly today with the guild, got surge needle ring.

gonna try for cindershard ring and Helansin, i topped the charts with the shred idol tonight, im pretty sure its what made the difference thanks !

Isashi:
Valor Medal of the First War > Essence of Gossamer since Agi > Stam (assuming you have enough HP in bear).
Too much HP and too little avoidance makes you a mana sponge for the healers.

Nothing else jumps out at me really. In fact most of your gear beats mine.
Haven't really raided much at all in Wrath due to my shift at work, but I'm still a tank at heart.

@ Isashi; in addition to Mokok's suggestion you could replace http://www.wowhead.com/?item=43582 with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42643, I think its definetly worth the slight HP loss

With optimal/max raidbuffs you're now at:
-40k Armor
-44k HP
-50% Dodge

doesnt leave that much room for easy upgrades, you're quite well equipped as it is

what I would probably aim for if I were you;

Buy http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40683 for 40 Heroism Emblems
Buy http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42643 to replace Frostguard Ring
Buy http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45829 for 28 Emblems of Conquest
As for gems, I'd replace most 24 Stamina gems with 8 Agi+12 Stamina, and the +8 Agi/Crit from gloves with 9 Agi/Hit.

In that case, you'd end up with;

-40.5k Armor
-41.4k HP
-53.4% Dodge
Also slightly higher threat/hit/damage absorbed by Savage Defense

I was lazy and just used Rawr to look up exact stats, but hope it helps

hm...for those 2 guys who posted their armory, it makes me wonder how u got this gear and survived this far in the game with not knowing whats good or not....im no pro on druid, but i can tell what i need to improve and stuff....seeing both u guys have 2/5 and 4/5...just makes me wonder

That's the general "rule" they use.

Hit doesnt need to be capped (you will eventually reach it with gear anyway)

Expertise needs to be softcapped (6%) so bosses wont dodge your attack's when your ripping them a new butthole.

Gem Agi untill your at around 50% crit, even if you reach the 220 ArP on gear, stick with Agi unless you have reached that crit.

Some of the enchants you can play around with to keep your exp/hit inline if needed.

As I remember hearing feral druids don't need a high hit %, not capped atleast. I am at 200 on my feral druid and I am usually first on dmg, if not 2nd or 3rd.

I was a Feral druid MT'ing Hyj/BT, went moonkin when my guild recruited a guy who only had feral gear (i had been collecting offset moonkin gear for kicks), stayed moonkin through all current content until dual specs came out, offspecced feral to help run mates through heroics, raided exclusively as moonkin, picked up feral gear from Uld10/25 as offset (ie when no one else wanted the item, and hadnt cashed in my tokens because i was aware of the possibility of loosing a tank) ... we recently lost a tank, so i have stepped up to replace that tank. As for the "guides" on this forum, they differ from the other guides a bit, and also from what other druids i have talked to have said ... everyone has differing opinions, i was simply searching for some more opinions here ... any mug can read a guide and think they are good, i prefer collecting opinions and choosing from a range of options.

If the gear you're wearing right now is your regular gear, you need to get some upgrades.

Your Weapon isn't very good. The Agility is quite low and you have Lifewarding on it. Keep looking for either Journey's End or Black Ice, or if you think you can grab them get any of the melee DPS staves/polearms out of Ulduar as they're better than what you have.

Your hit is too low. You need about another 50-100 hit rating. Keep looking for it on rings and neckpieces.

You should still be using the Rip idol. You can pick it up from the Valor badge vendor now if it didn't drop off Grand Widow for you.

Get rid of the PvP gear. Some of the stuff is okay for tanking with due to the high agil and stam, but for DPSing it's quite weak. If you can get Runed Ironhide Boots from Kologarn then grab them. They're the best Tanking boots in the game and socketed with an agil gem and a crit/hit or agil enchant will make them good dpsing boots.

Don't socket for stam bonuses unless you use the gear for tanking as well.

Your gloves need the 20 agil enchant. 44 AP is the same as enchanting 20 str, and 1pt agil > 1 pt of str, so make sure you get the agility one (or the hit one, if you have to).

Enchant your chest with +10 stats, not +8

Your cloak is subpar as well. Here's a list of cloaks that are better than what you're wearing:

Without being hit capped I'm sure you find that most fights you don't have enough free CP's to Ferocious Bite. Personally, I like the 30% more swipe damage. On fights like XT, Hodir, Thorim, and Razorscale I find it's quite helpful.

I'm in my tank gear right now, unfortunately, but my gear is only a little bit better than yours as far as ilvl goes. I have the same 2pcT8 and 2pcT7 bonsues and only a few Ulduar loots on top of that. I get about 4k on the target dummies.

your weapon sucks, as pointed out there are several upgrades prior to ulduar - and plenty of polearms/staves between ulduar 10 and 25 man.

you do need the hit rating so black ice would be a great start, you could hopefully get to do XT002 heroic and grab twisted visage as that also has a hefty chunk of hit on it. also enchant for dps - stick beserking on a good weapon, or if you have to use it for tanking use massacre instead (110 ap). even 85 ap on your current weapon would help.

Also most of the items in heroic ulduar have loads of hit rating - if you armoury me at the moment you will see how rediculous my gear is in terms of hit, after some upgrades giving me massive +hit bonuses on slots where I never used to have hit rating (e.g. journey's end -> twisted visage) I am standing at 345 hit lol.

but as a general rule for dps only you are aiming for 263 hit -> 26 expertise (too easy if you talent for +10 and have any tier items at all) -> agi till 50% crit unbuffed -> ArP gemming once you have 50% crit and 220 ArP.

you are also gemming that awesome dps helm for stamina? why? at least make it 8 agi + 12 stam to pick up the socket bonus.

gemming for hit is usually bad but even with your recent upgrades you are still short some hit rating.

Hey guys thanks for the updates, i logged off last night after doing dailied and well, cryptfiend's bite with lifeward on it is good for like 12 + mob pulls. thats all, im about to get footpads crafted and i use Spire of Withering Dreams as my main staff. im looking to upgrade my cloak ASAP but nothings really dropped, i might go for the hammerhead sharkskin one.



anyways, ill change my enchants a little bit, get 20 agill on gloves

Most of the advice you could get has been given, you could do with Icewalker on your boots to help with Hit and given how low your hit rating is possibly even consider the +20 Hit enchant to gloves instead of +20 Agility. As you currently are, you're missing about 4% of your attacks you could be hitting for combo points. 3% or so from your hit rating and 1% from dodges from your expertise. Possibly experiment with the Battlemaster's Accuracy - http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42129 (PvP Honor) or Titan-forged Rune of Accuracy - http://www.wowhead.com/?item=46083 (25 Wintergrasp Mark of Honor) to see if that hit rating boost outweighs one of your trinkets.

Other than that, I'd rather like to have your gear as mine's significantly worse.

Hey guys. little update, im currently gonna start stacking arp gems instead of agil, i have 52.48% crit unbuffed and i have my nightsong shoulders, just waiting for one more peice and ill swap out my t7 set. im also sitting at 201 hit atm,

twisted visage dropped this week. but a dude in my guild who got it (primarily feral tank but hes been in the guild only 6 days and he got it!!! i was devastated) is a feral tank with a pretty fail set. he also has only healed so far in all of our guilds... my weekly loot drama.

SIGH.
pyrite infuser hopefully next week, and twisted visage AGAIN hopefully next week.

Good luck on that one. As far as I know, TV is a myth .

If you haven't deleted them, get your T7.5 legs back until you have a 4pc bonus on t8. The bonuses on our gear are so important to our dps that you can easily downgrade a little bit with 1 piece of gear while still boosting your dps.

I see you're jamming some hit rating gems in your gear. If that's what you gotta do then by all means, but do it on pieces where the bonus will help (aka put that hit rating gem in your neck to get the +8 AP bonus and lose the +9 stam bonus in your chest).

Replace your 16 ArPen gem in your helm with a +8 ArPen +12 Stam for the biggest slut of a socket bonus I've ever seen. Wow.
