Why dont shamans ever use staves

It's not like mp5 is the worst stat. Constellus is probably an upgrade over whatever most ele shamans are using.

i cant speak for the resto's, but as ele, thanks to Unrelenting Storm and the natural efficiency of our spells, any mp5 on gear is a waste.

If I had the PR for the staff, I'd be getting the mageblade instead. More SP, same shit on it basically, and can use a shield. Armor, more sp, haste, crit, stam, int, whatevers on the shield added to that staff is > the staff.

Then it's obviously not "lolspirit" like everyone is saying. It's that you get more stats out of the combo (Everyone knows this...no caster uses a staff unless they have to)

If you compare the current staffs with even shitty mh oh combination its still not viable :/

its pretty much the same as to why most other classes don't wear staffs.
the amount of spell power is the same as that of a 1-h weapon.
and that leaves the offhand free for an item with spell power giving you more spell power then a staff.

the only thing that countered this was the staff enchant.
though i don't feel it makes up for the difference that much.

It's got 17 SP and a little crit more...If you'd add 23 Spellpower and some crit to Maelstrom's Fury (assuming it would be buffed to Itemlevel 151), this combination would be better.

so why do druids cut down trees to make staves?

anyway, shamans don't use them because the raidleader says so.
They have to use a shield and one hander or it's really bizarre or something.

Well as you know we (meaning Druids) worship the nature and love the nature thus we don't cut down trees to mke satves of it ... merly we just ask the trees to give us some branches and then go along with what we got and make a cool staff of it or even armor.

err yes but as you know we try to keep the balance in nature and thus only kill what is neccessary ... so why don't take the hide from them if we allready have to kill them ... at least we ask the first, you know? Yes we even slay the animals for their meat and take their hides but we pray for them and even talk to them first, we aren't assassins ... and their spiritual reminder keeps the form it had when they died ... with their fur and hide and their meat where it belogns.

It's all that hunters and rouges that just slay them without even a little prayer or respect that resulots in all that riped to bones and all "naked" animal ghosts out there.
Think of it it maybe give the animals you kill at least a littel prayer as you send them to the afterlife.

but also for most other caster classes a main and offhand combo are better than a staff
main+offhand has more SP and haste/crit (blah) for sahamans especially the 25 Int shield enchant comes in handy
staves mostly offer a big stam/int/spi and some SP thats lower than the stats on main+off
