...Not because it's ineffective, it's great. I'm just getting really bored of the fact that every single pvp rogue has the same spec.

The shift to 3s, and the new focus on sustained damage will hopefully open things up a little.

I'd really like to see a spec like this become viable:

Any thoughts? Also, we'll presumably have to spec more resil to keep up with everyone else after the new changes, will Cheat Death become an option?

I've played this spec some in battlegrounds, and it's TONS of fun, but not nearly as effective as the same old spec...

Cheap SS, good rupture damage (if bleeds are improved enough after resil changes to justify it, otherwise 3/3 ruth)...I can't bring myself to believe that imp KS is worth the points...however this spec loses CB and Murder.

Could drop imp SS and take 4/5 something to get them back.

No becuse you get disarm on shorter CD and oh instead of a 10 min prep you have a 5 min prep now i have had many games go beyond 5 minutes why ? becuse when better players play better players you get alot of counter action going on..

horrible. imp ss and hemo? what are you dpsing with?

also, other builds in here skip cheat death for filthy tricks, bad, and they also spec imp mut/bs in early assassin and still have hemo...questionable.

if you're breaking the 45/5/25 trend, it better be full shadowdance, because there are 2 pvp cookie cutters for a reason. THEY WORK. they're effective, and specing outside of them is fine but to get the most bang for your buck and preform well as a rogue, you spec how the good people do.

mut/prep or full dance IMHO.


or go killing spree, its a great spec for 2s with a priest. remember harp days? except now you go cqc instead of mace, and no prep.

I've been messing around Durotar and UC with this spec, 21/0/50 Hemo+CB. Not for Arena, mind you. Thats why there's Filthy Tricks.

CS > Hemo > Hemo > CB > Evis > Blind > Repeat.

With 120 energy, I can perfom a 5 point Evis by the time CS is over, blind my victim and still have enough energy to Hemo a couple of times if the opponent is not dead.

Dont think this will work well in arena but I'm having a lot of fun ganking other ppl in Durotar and Undercity.

Never really built a Rogue spec before. Was told Combat was the way to level and so I have been doing so. Must say Adrenaline Rush is pretty nice.

There are other specs which are on the same level or even more viable than that "Mutilate" but since mutilate is the easiest one why i shouldn't take it ?

I'm not begging for nerf, neither for changes i just want to see all those lame bull(people)shit doing something more than standard.

It's fun, and fairly effective. I think that it may work well in 3s (w/priest and feral), but I haven't tried it yet.

So it's at least viable if you're a pvp prodigy...

I'm guessing that Litre is going with Sleight of Hand for the occasional special attack miss (stacking with nelf racial). Clever.

I'm still not sure if Cheat Death is worthwhile, I would say there's only been a few occasions in which I've "cheated death" because of it.

As well as I have played shadowdance at 2k rating on my rogue, I didn't feel the eager to make one more specc but it's not really that hard to take obvious choices, a tallent that is really important is the 10% dmg after breaking stealth as some people do not use. As shadowdance you basicly need to come out of stealth, make some fucking great dmg for a few seconds and vanish.

With shadowdance you take the mindgaming to the next level, however it's hard dealing damage to plate with the specc, so I've found it. It works as mage/rogue at least, I think combat is stronger with a healer if you wanna play something different.

I haven't played it because I don't have a decent fist weap, but the combination of lightning reflexes/unfair advantage/setup/ghostly strike/evasion seems like it could be really fun.

KS as insane burst but well... that's it.
The build I posted is a nice allrounder and as an added bonus it's an absolute rogue-killer. decent burst through ar/bf, very high avoidance, finishers through evasion (kidney through evasion is absolutely huge) and 30% less damage when stunned and feared which can be a life saver against locks/rogue/rets and to a smaller extent also ferals/mages (deep freeze is a stun) and warriors.


€dit: my version has a truckload of keybinds, it's about as bad as shadowstep. So if you're lazy you can leave out riposte and/or ghostly
