    Should I have been saved?

Maybe a stupid question. I'd never been in this situation before, and I was a little surprised about it.

I joined a Naxx 25 pug last night that was already in progress. They had one wing down. We fought Patchwerk and wiped twice, and then it was called and I left. I thought, since I wasn't around for a boss kill, that I wouldn't be saved, but I am. Is this how it always works? I thought you had to be there during an actual boss kill, and not just wipes, to get saved to an raid.

    Thanks!

Remember that message that popped up when you entered the instance? It said the instance was already in progress, and that you would be saved to that instance. You accepted this message, saving you to the instance.

This is how I had originally thought it was back in Kara, however a friend informed me (and I noticed) that you get saved for setting foot inside a raid with any boss dead. After 3.2 came out, you should now receive a confirmation box asking if you wanna get saved or not when you zone in.

I belive they'll change it soon so that you won't get saved until you actually participate in a boss kill. Think some notes said so...
If I was a Blizz server technician, I'd hijack a server and use it to download porn 24/7. Guess why the instance servers always are full B]

Re: Should I have been saved?

That only applies to a fresh instance, where killing a boss will save you to that ID (A new ID).

You can enter and exit a fresh instance as often as you like, if no bosses are killed you won't get saved. Wipe away on FL people!

If you ever enter an ID in progress, you will automatically be saved to that ID.

In 3.1 they added a confirmation to this save, preventing the creation of unhappy raiders

I blame the mods out there. All the damn hand-holding mods that all but do your quests for you have taught people not to bother reading anything. Hell, one of em I think is even called tourguide, which is what they all turn the game into: a fucking guided tour instead of a GAME where you actually have to put the slighest bit of thought into it.

Actually, Mr. Lennon, I CAN imagine a world with no hatred, religion, war, or violence.
I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming.

Tour Guide is wonderful if you've experienced the game already and just want to get a quick alt to 80.

    But that's it.

I couldn't imagine the amount of enjoyment I would have lost in the game if I didn't play it how it was intended the first time. Yeesh.
