What gives the most dps? Drink insane strength potion to gain 150 strength for 15 seconds, (Kings and talents included) or potion of speed to gain 500 haste rating for also 15 seconds?
Thanks in advance.

Str. imo... It affects the damage of all your abilities and you gain an extra 25% effect from it (Divine Strength + Kings) not to mention it also gains benefit from a 10% ap buff if you have one in your raid. While haste... just makes you swing faster, so it's pretty pointless for a ret paladin.

as tasty as strength sounds speed potions net more dps.
Only reason being is more simply put
lvl 80 potion > lvl 70 potion
use flasks?

Can Heal, Tank, DPS, and go AFK like no other.
It seems someone does not know the difference of a flask and potion L2play.Originally Posted by Soulbender

I would argue that insane str pots net more dps because it's the equivelent of popping 379.5 AP (150 x 1.15 x 1.10 stat multipliers from talent and kings) which will up the dmg on all your attacks and instants, vs. giving you a couple extra swings.
The Insane Strength does give a good amount of strength but it doesn't compair to the flooded amount of haste that the other gives.
Even at the low levels haste still wins just due to the amount it gives.

Use rawr to figure relative values. Set fight length to 30 seconds to ensure you're within heroism.
My gear isn't the best but its not awful:
str 1.37
haste 0.62
insane str = 150*1.37 = 205.5
speed = 500 * 0.62 = 310
Toggling on 3.2 mode and using vengeance makes str much more valuable and it pulls ahead by a decent margin.
So, roughly speaking:
For now, haste.
For 3.2, strength.
More accurately:
Use rawr and do the simple math yourself.
You can argue all you want, but elitist jerks has done the math. If there were a level 80 equivalent to insane strength potion then it would be better, but there isn't.Originally Posted by Slade

You know that the int flask from vanilla wow is still one of the best for mana regen for holy paladins, resto shammans and disc priests, right?Originally Posted by Adamson

Also.... note that the L80 speed potion is worse at L80 than the L70 speed potion is at L70 :/
