Hi there,
before a few weeks i'm sure that i could read that druids only need ca. 22x haste to get the GCD on 1 second, why druids now need 359?

Source:Updated with Patch 3.08: The global cooldown reduction of Gift of the Earthmother is now percentage-based. This represents a significant nerf to its effectiveness. We can adapt the formula provided by Zoltair of Korialstrasz (US) via Elitist Jerks to solve for the amount of haste needed to reach a 1.0 sec GCD at different points in GotEM:
Haste from Gear = (1.5 * (1 - GotEM%) / ((1 + WoAT%) * (1 + Aura%) * (1 + CF%))) - 1

/edit fixed thecode tag (fonts are way too small)
Thank you for this information!
you're welcome
I postet that quite a couple times, perhaps it should be added to the sticky
last i looked, those numbers were in the sticky but not well emphasized. hint hint GrimmhornOriginally Posted by kaylon
I looked at Worldoflogs for your guild, on a night you did Freya.

On Freya, you cast a mere 38 heals in which are able to crit. Of the 38, 18 of them actually crit the target. You spent roughly a minute casting the direct heals. The rest of the time was all HoT's.
The Freya fight was a 6 minute encounter, so a good portion of the time was dedicated to getting HoT's up on targets. Therefore; I find that the haste is more valuable then the crit, but once one hits the haste cap, crit would be best from then on.
I know you cant completely rely on meters such as that, but I find haste helps to dramatically increase my healing, and if the majority of the time you spend healing is HoT's then you should definitely go for the haste cap. We already have the talent in which gives us a lot of crit, so imo getting haste cap is my first priority.
I've been noticing that I don't innervate on any fights anymore because they keep throwing more and more regen on our gear while mana costs stay the same.
My new idea is to take the stam/int/haste/crit/sp damage gear that is probably intended for moonkins and cloth casters and put it on resto druids. We lose some regen but we get more of the stats we really want; and maybe we'll actually start innervating again.
Mainly raid healing but still keeping regrowth & rejuv (and often LB) on the tank is the role I usually fill. I stack a lot of haste partially for my builds 3/3 revitalise raid benefit.
Have a Wrath of Air and Improved Moonkin Aura/Swift Retribution Aura in the raid and get 541 haste so you can go 4/5 GotEM and get 3/3 revitalise for raid benefit from your rejuv's and wild growths mana/energy/rage/runic bonus's.

Is my current build. With the change to empowered touch I am considering moving points from tranquil spirit there for the nourish bonus as we'll as the NS HT preexisting bonus.
If I was Straight tank healing (3 hots + nourish between reapp)(trying to do a paladins job the spec changes and the value of haste vs crit switches.)
I haven't used this but it would be my tank healing build wearing a lot of crit and not much haste. (revitalise is worthless on tanks).

I haven't checked the numbers for how much crit for removing points from natures grace and Living Seed and I am not sure if I would even have Wild Growth vs a 3rd point in tranquil spirit as this is an attempt at a heal a tank and nothing else as much as you can for as long as you can balancing build.
Summary Haste is better unless your only tank healing in which case go crit.
Constructive criticism appreciated.
