    ESDF>WASD?

So, who here uses ESDF over the classic WASD keys.

I am still originally using WASD, but I haven't really thought about changing to ESDF but I'd get so much more use out of my keybinds.
It might take some time to get use to though, been using WASD since Vanilla...

I just mash my hands on the keyboard and hope I move forward.

I've used ESDF for years and I think it's strictly better. You get more keys to hit with your pinky finger.

I use ESDF since 7 years now or so, played Shooters and MMOs with it, etc
You have way more buttons you can reach with your left hand.

Never thought of this, actually.. Just customized Q, E, Z, X etc.. and thought "oh well, thats all i can reach!"
But, this might actually be a quite good idea, although it would take some time to get used to. Always used WASD for all games I've played

Edit: I just changed it.. Dang! this will sure take a while to get used to

But when I use the keyboard, WASD. I tried ESDF for a while and I just couldn't get used to it.

    Re: ESDF>WASD?

There are lots of variations available. I've used WASD and I don't have the need for more binds and that's why I'm not changing my WASD. All those other "WASD" buttons (like IJKL or RDFG mentioned) can be used and those might have more nearby buttons which could help binding.

WASD is enough for me as I'm not binding _everything_ anyway. Just those that I need to use fast are bound.

In the end it's all about personal preferences.

    Re: ESDF>WASD?

I used the arrow keys when I first started playing and I clicked EVERYTHING. A good friend convinced me to swap to bindings one day. I figured I'd have to use the WASD setup because I'd have more access to keybinds than with arrow keys. When I went to bind everything I said to myself "hey why would I HAVE to use WASD?" and I decided on ESDF and have been using it ever since. Still to this day I have never used WASD and I don't think I could if you asked me to, that's 4 keys I'd be missing out on.
