Can you train a Dreadsteed and do the quest later?

As the title says. Whenever the servers get back on I'm going to buy epic riding for my Warlock. What I want to know is, if you go to your 'Lock trainer and train a Dreadsteed, can you still finish the Dreadsteed quest and get the feat of strength.

If not, then I am going to have to buy the epic mount training and get a non-Dreadsteed mount. Then I'll come back and do the quest when I'm 70/80.
