    Spark of Hope

Has anyone calculated the mp5 equivalent of Spark of Hope? There is a pretty wicked trinket available in the AC with 60+ mp5 and an on equip spell power boost. I'm curious what it would take in terms of mp5 to replace Spark of Hope. Obviously the calculation is fight based and player based as the calculation would involve average casts per fight, but I figures someone far smarter than me has already done the math.

    100 Spirit = ~19MP5 while casting
    Equip effect = anything upto 210 mp5 (5 casts in 5 seconds)

wasnt that hard was it? :P

Nope, but you saved me from doing math, which always makes me happy.

Unfortunately it actually isn't that simple. The equip effect doesn't reduce every spell by 42 mana (and I know you said 'upto' but sort of implied that it was only relative to the number of casts). Most druid spells only get 30~35 mana reduced.

Still, this is by far the best mana regen trinket, even compared to the new one. IMO focus on improving your output as much as possible on the rest of your gear. If you don't have enough regen for a particular fight, simply equip this trinket and your regen worries will disappear.

I'm a little confused here, why don't you check out the comment section on that wowhead link of yours?

There is no fixed mana savings value. But this might give you a hint:

Assuming you only roll rejuv on a 1 sek gcd with Idol of awakening:

    cost w/o spark: 371
    cost with spark: 341
    save per cast: 30
    saves per 5 Casts = 150
    => 150 mp5 + that 29ish mp5 from the spirit (with kings)

With latency and the occasional wild growth it is a little less ofc.

Btw great trinket, i use it in all longer and more intense fights.

It wasn't that accurate, either, as far as the spirit regen goes. That is highly dependent on gearing. Sitting at 1427 int, swapping the spark in gives me 35mp5 while casting. More when raid buffed.

WTF? You have 1427 Int unbuffed??

Edit: Just noticed you're a priest, that might explain that. Most resto druids will end up with about 1000-1100 Spirit & Int raid buffed, for which his figures are close enough.

    Re: Spark of Hope

I think having a trinket familiar to Spark of Hope (mana regeneration boost) and Show of Faith (spell power boost and a minor to mana regeneration) is the best combo you can have for a Restoration Druids at the moment.

Really? How come? The effect doesn't say "up to 42 mana". Seems weird.

It is applied before % reductions to mana costs.

    Re: Spark of Hope

ElGeFe is correct just check you rejuv mana cost. Also i find this trinket to be good for me in all situations as when i have it i can avoid regen when possible. Will be less useful as WotlK goes on as we will less and less mana problems remeber how priests drained mana before 3.1 now they rarely have issues. we never had much after icecrown gear we will end fights at full mana lol.
