I was coming to see if anyone else had the same issue with the transfer. I have tried a couple of times to transfer an alliance toon to my horde toon servers and keep getting the same error.

I called up Blizzard yesterday (having attempted the same Horde-to-Horde transfer onto a Realm I started as Alliance) and was told the restriction has only been lifted for creating toons of both factions. So if you started on the Realm as Alliance, you currently cannot transfer anything but Alliance. No ETA was available for when we could start transferring. I assume it will coincide w/ the cross-faction transfer service.Originally Posted by Artillo

Haha, you would be welcome to try. Any real attempts are scarce these days. I think I`ve stated it very clearly - I don`t end up all frustrated in such cases. Getting somewhat angry or annoyed is quite normal, and then there is just one proper resolution - repay in kind. Simple.Originally Posted by tilleywow
Yes, because going around and picking on people you have no reason whatsoever to pick on (be it RL or in game), especially if you know that they are weaker than you, is a great way to measure one`s testoterone. Probably good for showing courage too, eh?Originally Posted by tilleywow
Me, my girl, and 3 other guildies all rolled alliance toons on our server recently and have been enjoying the experience from the other side (its her first alliance toon, as well as one of the guildies) we ran into a "rival guild" (their name was literally "Horde Birth Control") whilst questing in Duskwallow Marsh, they were running around ganking lowlevel horde/bad 60-80s trying to 25 man Ony (rather pathetic if you ask me, saying I have 2 manned it as a balance druid and my DK/Shaman/Pally/Feral buddies can solo the bitch). We recognised a few of the names from both sides and joined in with the alliance and the 5 of us (me being the highest level, 41 priest) took down a 60 DK and a 60 Druid. Afterwards, we tell the raid that we are from "TFL" (Our horde guild) and the ALiiance 80s in the raid laugh a bit, ask us who are mains are, and trade banter back and forth of the "Oh man I remember when you ganked me while I was questing" or "Fucking fourofakind, you Typhooned us off of the Naxx summoning stone that one time" and "Remember that wintergrasp where you guys had like 5 stacks of tenacity" etc. It was some of the most fun I have ever had in World PVP and it was awesome to actually get to know those "Alliance kids" whom we have traded blows with these many years.
All and all, this patch is awesome, brings the whole community togeather and makes the GAME about having FUN again, best thing bliz could have done to wow, hands down.
Now, instead of Alliance and Horde hating eachother, we have all banded togeather, united in our hatred against DeathKnights (which was probably bliz's intention to ready us for Arthas lolololololol)

thats just what I hate about this change... your killing people you have played with for some time
since I expect you wont give up on your horde chars I guess you will be switching back and forth between alliance and horde... I still dont think this is right on a PvP Server but what does it matter
and what prevented you from rolling alliance before this patch? is it so hard to take another server? :>

I had a 4v4 "mlg" team in Halo 2/3 when we first started playing, yet for practice (and sometimes just for the fun of it) we would 2v2 each other mixing up the teams.Originally Posted by Liquid Snake
Simple point, I like how this patch allows us the freedom of switching sides when we so feel to, yet still the option of PVP on the same server as our mains. Don't get me wrong, if this were an RP server situation, I would be a bit more inclined to agree with the concept of "Faction betrayal" but its not, and even if it were, playing on an RP server properly (RPing your character, its race, etc) is nerdy enough, to say that the level of "In Character" spans account wide is a bit ridiculous.
If you load up call of duty, join a game, and get a good 20 kills on Allied Forces, you have the option of "switching teams" to play as the "Insurgent Forces" at the end of each round, hell depending on game type/server rules, you can swap mid-game. Blizzard is applying this concept to WoW, and on the PvP standpoint (and especially the PvE Standpoint) this shouldn't be to foreign a concept.
I really don't get what all the fus is about this change, all things aside this is what bliz did.
Bliz made a rule
Bliz realised its rule didnt make sense
Bliz removed rule.
Player followed rule
Player got used to rule
Rule change, player is confused.
Lets say Bliz never implimented the PvP Realm Restrictions, would your wow experience really have been that different? Also, where were the people who are complaining about this change when blizzard changed;
1. Realm Xfer Restrictions
2. Realm/accpimt Xfer "cooldowns"
3. BoP tradeability duration
4. Currency refund duration
5. Attunements... (this actually was a slap in the face to those that did the work)
6. THE HONOR SYSTEM (Odds are, most of the people bitching weren't around for this anyway)
7. The Classes (1.1-1.12 etc the original MAJOR changes)
8.The Mount system (Huge change, went pretty much ignored)
9. Patch X.Y Change
Etc Etc
Changes happen, they will continue to happen. The only constant, is that if you log on today, and log on 6 months later, something will be different (typically, its a drastic change). So back to my original statement.
If you do not like change/innovation/'renovation'(sometimes drastic) in your videogames, then WoW (and MMOs in general) aren't really the place for you. FF7 is the same game today as it was 12 years ago, if thats the kind of gameplay you prefer, static in nature, then I strongly suggest saving the 15 bucks a month and just either get a Gamefly account, or buy non-online games at your leisure.
