Post an armorylink please
Always prio str (when near/above hitcapped), even though I must say your expertise and crit is really low...
http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=91451.0 all you need to know.
And apparently ret at low gear levels is pretty awful post-patch.
Thanks Folks,
I read up on the link and had a rejig of my talents and am now hitting 1900 dps with rubbish gear, thanks again.
i wanted to see a armory link :P

Link here if anyone has anything constructive to say it would be greatly appreciated.
Dps around 2500 to 2800 surely this should be better huh?
Thanks
You have a talent point in Pursuit of Justice and a run speed meta gem that overlap in their effects. Give up Vindication and switch the meta gem to the Relentless Earthsiege. Yes, Vindication is nice to have, no you don't need it. If you're running five man's, you don't need it. If you're running 10's or 25's, you almost certainly have a warrior who can put up Demo Shout. Can't dump Vindication because the warriors won't do it? Do you have a boomkin in your raid? Then you can drop Swift Retribution. Do you have two rets? Have one put up Vindication and the other buff Improved Might so you only have to spec into one of those two.Originally Posted by theshank
Pick up Rawr and use it to help you with gemming and gearing decisions. Some of your gems are less than ideal. For example, you should have Bold Cardinal Rubies in your chest sockets and your weapon. This is a minor point but it ends up making a difference in the end. My own gear has 19 sockets. Lose 5 or more DPS per gem and it starts to add up. 90% of the time the best way to go is to use all strength gems and then one Nightmare Tear to activate the meta gem. Rawr will help you to determine exactly which gems are the highest DPS for you.

You're way over the hit cap, yet you have a gem with hit rating in it. You should only carry 8% hit. You seem to be over-emphasizing crit as well. Crit is nice to have but you don't want to push it. If you're going to use a Battlemaster's trinket, it should be the attack power trinket. Your stat priority in general is: Hit to cap, then Strength, then Expertise to cap, then Crit, then Agility, then Haste. Rawr will help you make these decisions as well.
If you want to make your life easy, pick up Serious Help in Timing. You tell it what your spell priority is and it will tell you which button to hit next. For your gear, the spell priority should be HoW > CS > Judgement > DS > Consecration > Exorcism. When you pick up 2pc T9, Judgement will move ahead of Crusader Strike. Serious Help in Timing will make your life easier, try it and see if you like it.

I believe you know this but I really dont like seeing wording which pushes young rets in potentially the wrong direction.
You need expertise badly, you need new trinkets, you need berserking on your weapon, and frankly your proffs are pretty shitty for ret. Other than that just dump the arp where you can (although its not a wholey bad stat just not ideal).
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money; but what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I've acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, i will not pursue you but if you don't; I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Socketing for bonus is almost always a very bad idea. You have no pure gems that I saw, and a few that have AP. Go for pure strength gems except for getting the required colors for meta activation, and as was already said, drop the meta Also, look into using a Nightmare tear, you really want as many +str gems as possible, and that one is prismatic, so it can replace one of your non-redsOriginally Posted by theshank

About your note "crit is even more so beneficial with 2pt9".. It's not derived from your own crit. It has a 'set' critchance on its own. Which is retartly low btw.Originally Posted by Munk

Just because it has value doesn't mean it has more value. Again, crit is nice to have, but it should not be overemphasized. Even with 2pc T9, strength outweighs crit in value and most attack power items will as well.Originally Posted by Munk
Should you take items with crit on them? Of course! Crit is great. Should you take the crit trinket over the AP trinket or a strength trinket? No, you shouldn't. Should you gem for it? No. The person that I was responding to had chosen a crit trinket over an AP trinket which was a mistake. That person also was gemming for crit. That's why I said he was over-emphasizing crit. Take it, but don't push it at the expense of stats that are more valuable.
I gem crit.
Last night RV had 920 hits and 904 crits - 49.4% crit for RV.Originally Posted by Bohedral
That is not low.
That is my raid buffed crit rating.
Yes, you've got two hybrid gems with crit on them but the spots where you put them aren't the sort of thing I'm talking about. Your helm and legs have the rare socket bonuses that are worth picking up and even then only because of the 2pc T9.
The person who said that you get a set amount of crit that is very low with the set bonus was mistakenly referring to a bug. The 2pc T9 set bonus was fixed in Patch 3.2.2. It was terrible before but is great now.
