Trinket question

Im wondering if I should swap my spider trinket for the one that drops in ToC normal, although im not sure whether I would prefer the base SP in the spider trinket or the SP proc from the one in ToC.

i currntly have dying curse and abysall rune. i have also lightweave embrioidry on my back which totals to about 3800 sp when they proc at the same time which is fun

ok , i need help with what trinks to use i have the os25 trink http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40432 which procs with every life tap and damaging spell i do, which is nice. if you look at my profile http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...=Smokaz+Lounge youll notice my haste is kinda low, so i also have the abyss trink from reg toc http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47213 so which one do i go for constant sp or a chance to gain sp and beef up my haste a bit? thx

Embrace of the spider procs 505 haste for 10 secs, toc one procs 590 spellpower for 10 secs, both have a 45s igcd.
Assuming delay for a proc is 5 seconds and you cast 25 spells per 50 sec (rough estimate):

Embrace of the spider (505 / 50) * 25 = 252,2 flat haste + 98 flat spellpower
Toc trinket (590 / 50) * 25 = 295 flat spellpower + 84 flat haste

Taking the following stat values for destruction (taken from EJ):

spell damage = 1
spell crit = .7
spell haste = .8
spirit = .5
int = .2

Embrace of the spider gives you 299,76.
Toc trinket gives you 362,2.

These calculations are not 100% accurate but the difference seems large enough to justify saying the toc trinket is the better choice, if you want more accurate calculations use rawr.

1. These stat weights are based on a specific gear set (most likely BiS gear). They will be different for different gear sets.

2. Consider that if your haste is very low and your spellpower is very high, the haste trinket may be better than the spellpower one.

3. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with the ToC trinket, even if haste is a better stat for you. Gem for additional haste where possible (yellow sockets, get epic gems with SP/haste) and you'll be fine. Just use haste pots instead of wild magic pots.

4. I actually didn't know about this trinket in reg ToC, but rest assured, I'll be replacing my own Embrace of the Spider with it whilst I wait for better trinkets.

Thanks for the constructive answers. Il get it from ToC, il do some DPS tests on dummys/raids and see what works best for me.

This is outdated, and has been for quite some time. I'm not sure why they don't fix, perhaps they assume people will make the effort to actually check...

they may now say they support locks, but it is still broken. basically 3.0-3.1 there was no one to work on the warlock module and now it is still broken, stat values differ greatly from other much more respected sims, including haste and crit values and modeling for many trinkets are bad.
