Artifact Items

So, while in one post I just eschewed wowwiki, I will, of course, use it here so as not to be branded a "non-researcher".

Just curious what people think of these items in general and if/when we'll see them in game. Do you think they will be updated Legendaries or will we see entirely new items?

Will they be the combination of more than one legendary?

Will Artifact items be one per server?

What do you think they should be?

Artifacts are gm items.
They've been in the game files since beta, no reason to give them to players now.
