Along with that, I'm using http://www.wowhead.com/?item=39229 as well as the new totem - which gives 200 haste basically all the time.

I put this in over my old Sundial Trinket. I grew a bit suspicious when I first realized that none of the other casters in my group were rolling on it, which is odd seeing as it gave almost 3% crit alone. Then after I searched through a few websites, I saw most people agreed that this was not an upgrade, even compared to 2 ilevel 200 trinkets. Last night when my guild did ulduar10 I noticed an increase of about 800 in my dps, however I also got the new totem of electrifying wind and a two piece t9 set bonus, so it's hard for me to tell if the trinket works really well with the new totem, or the totem and the t9 are just that great.

My question is, is this trinket really that terrible for an Elemental Shaman and am I just getting really lucky? Or are all these nay-sayers just classes who have long-cast-time-spells and/or Elemental Shamans who dont time it right? (I'm using it right after the 505 haste from the Embrace proc goes away, so I dont go overboard on my haste.)

it is a 2 min CD v. an internal CD of 45 or 50 sec. and it has to be stacked on spells v. just getting the buff. while it is a decent trinket, it isnt amazing for anyone (unless they make it stack of FT weapon).

I don't like the trinket, the crit is vnice but the on use is bit crappy
When you use you have a effect for 20sec, ever cast is 57 haste add
lets say your cast takes 2sec, max of 8 stack = 16 sec of casting before you have max 8
ok I think you do 2 lvb and 1 fs during that time (if you want to use trinket more spam shock)
so I assume you can reach 8 stacks in 10sec, meaning you have 10sec left for using 456 haste.
embrace of the spider: 98sp + 505haste for 10sec when procs (dont remember hidden cooldown)
scale of fates: 125sp + 432 haste for 20sec (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45466)
I havent tested yet but doing some quick thinking I see you only benefit ~10sec every 2 min from the max haste

For this it would be nice to know more, what crit you have in raid, what haste, what sp etc
but for now I say its not an upgrade

With this trinket, I had 38% crit in a raid(focus magic, moonkin aura, kings, ai) and 3028 SP w/ totem of wrath down. My haste is 442 with no buffs, but with wrath of air, totem of electrifying wind, embrace of the spider proccing, moonkin aura haste, bloodlust, berserking, and you know, anything else, my cast time changes all the time.

that trinket is terribad, all of them are. if they were equip's with standard (45s) internal cd's they would be good.

So is http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47213 better than http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47879 ? Or should I go back to using http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45929 or http://www.wowhead.com/?item=39229 ? I haven't won a roll on http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45308 yet which I know is better than all of these.

My other trinket I always have equipped is http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40432 .

not the best you can get over internal cooldown proc-type trinkets that dont require you to hit a button out of rotation, but nice if you want to /flex your dps on a heroic boss by stacking haste :P

edit: to above post, Sif's rem. looks smells and tastes like a resto trinket.

I myself prefer trinkets with either 'chance to do' or just running buffs (like your illustration) but as of thesedays.. it's just too annoying to have trinkets that need to be activated to carry their weight, just my 2 cents do what you will with it :-)

Shamanutra, I haven't checked it lately, but there's been a running thread on EJ for resto trinkets (and another for enhance, elem, etc.)

Last time I checked, it rated everything from Naxx through Ulduar, and was pretty insightful.
