Fastest Lvling Spec

Prot or ret? 1-60 fastest by questing only no instancing.

1-60 it's ret, hands down... You don't get the really good prot skills later on (after 60) and you also don't have divine plea which will lead to a bunch of downtime which, combined with terrible dps, is not the best for leveling unless you are AOE grinding, which is pretty terrible since questing is way faster now.

If it's an alt, then get the BAR (heirloom 2H axe) with crusader+shoulders+chest, spec ret, and you're good to go.

Leveling as a paladin:

Holy!
Your damage is increased by attack power and spell power.
From 1 till 60, you dont have ap or sp.
From 60 till 80, you have spellpower.

Protection:
Your damage is increased by attack power and spell power.
You got ap on gear and sp from a talent.

Your mana management is dependent on being healed, being hit or using plea.
Your only source solo is being hit, so group of melee enemys are your friend while single casters are your worst fear.

Retribution:
Your damage is increased by attack power and spell power.
You got ap on gear and sp from a talent.

Your mana management is dependent on a talent and a glyph (SoCs).
Ret works great against every kind of enemy you will encounter.

Conclusion:
Ret is best most of the time. Prot is better at time and inferior at more other times.

1-60 Ret

Just because prot is not great yet

60-80 PROT

AOE grind the mobs WHILE u quest and its faster then ever... The problem is u need to understand that killing 5 mobs is easier then killing 1 mobs because of the redoubt + holy shield. Just keep blocking, use all ur mana gaining thing and voila

And i can solo elite without any problem... Soloed all the quest till 80 including some hard 5man boss.

Prot was the way to go back in the day before the -20% xp per lvl and +30% xp from quests change, as it stands now just ret your way up, it sucks until you hit 60 or so but it does get better.
